Broken Diff, Whats Needed.

hey all, my mate broke his diff last night at willowbank.

Apparently the diff gears or some sh*t - i suggested just get a kaaz 2way or something off the net, but he reckons that he was told when you buy these dif centers - it won't fix it? (pinion wheels or some sh*t - i have no idea about diffs haha)

I assumed dif center was *everything* in the diff.... is this not correct?

He's looking to spend about 1g to fix it (not more then that though) would probably be happy with a stocko r33 dif if anyone has one lying around even

Just wanna know about the dif centers. Is it everything but the outer case? or is this a wrong assumption.

blew his diff ouch!, what model car? possibly blew his clutch packs?

Nah something to do with the gears... couldn't drive it home... Said tail shaft was spinning but wheels done nothing haha....

He's probably done the pinion from your description (doubt it's the crown wheel but possible also)

Aftermarket diffs come as centres only, no gears. There are a few that come with output shafts aswell.
