I can finally hear myself think in the car now. I had a cat back custom zorst fitted yesterday. Its a straight through system with a big centre res and large rear muff.

It read 88db at 5000rpm, driving around at 3000rpm it was down at 80db.

Prior to the change I drove in with a hold onto it, 118db at 5000rpm.

God dam its good to drive a quite car again!

go the quite cars

my stock exhaust reads 74 db (quieter then a hyndai excel lol) with nismo cat as opposed to the apexi 3.5" all the way thru exhaust i got with the car with no cat converter which was im sure around 120+

i want my exhaust back tho for better flow/power, but law wont let me =(

that exhaust is guaranteed to get u defected, talking from experience

and silencer wont do shit... I had the remote control silencer on my system which could control the resonance/flow from inside the car and they still defected me and took me to EPA every time.

    • Hey guys so turns out this project is going to be much bigger than I thought haha but I've done some my homework and have done a few panels on my car, but one part I can just not visualise is this. If I do a spot repair and I put filler in a dent for example and sand outside of the repair with 320 grit lets say so the primer can stick as I will only put primer on that repair and the surrounding area and then repaint the whole panel. Don't I need to make sure that I don't put primer on the old clear coat? I keep seeing YouTube videos where people have new paint and primer land on the old clearcoat that isn't even dulled down, it's still shiny. I thought putting paint on clearcoat or primer on clearcoat is a bad idea because it won't stick. So in this scenario it's a bit different to mine but imagine someone doing a spot repair and only painting that small section of repair but the new paint is landing on the old clearcoat. What am I missing?
    • I was immediately reminded that your location is QLD. Sounds like a perfect SEQ business idea.
    • And if you can't drive bigger injectors with peak and hold as low impedance injectors during low pulse width, it's even harder to get a nice clean known amount of fuel.
