Yes, have heard that Alex, am purchasing an apexi AX53B70 turbo kit for RB25DET end of month, am hoping it comes with hard pipe, if not might have to buy one.

it actually looks good in my opinion

the lst issue of HPI talked about these saying they must be large diameter to stop the pronblem of surging idle..

this one has a nice large diameter mouth and so looks great...

bit exxy though in my opinion for what it is.. its only a small piece of pipe after all...

Mine was sucking shut with 228rwkw. That one doesn't even look the right shape. Can't use a recirculating bov with it either from the looks of it.

yeh the main reason people use em i believe, apart from looks, is that factory pipe sucking closed on warm days/boosted conditions

I got myself a custom made one from Roadrunner for $220.

I just don't trust Ebay any more as I've had a few bad experiences.

i have a metal intake pipe made by Exhaust Technology. Paid 260 for it. Came up a treat, i find under heavy boost it revs alot quicker and smoother. With the rubber one on it sucked itsself in. If you want i can host pics.

The pipe collapsing on itself is not to do with how much power the car is making but rather how much air it is pulling through...

like i said, under heavy/big boost it was sucking its self in, also doesnt help being in such a hot area... the rubber pipe hasnt even got a spring in it to stop it from flexing..

I would also assume there would be some slight benefits in having a bigger pipe there with no spiral wire in it to disturb airflow,

not a massive change i would think, i made about the same power on same boost with my car. But the intake pipe was different... Its a bit of everything. Wank factor, pipe not sucking itself in etc.

Mint - Nice choice on a turbo set up. Heard they are very responsive. Let us know the results for sure

get ya local exhaust shop to make 1 for ya, cost round 70bux for a bit of pipe and labour

It always seemed to me that if your intake pipe was sucking itself shut, you got one restrictive air filter
