Pre Purchase Car Checks

I know that most anybody who has bought a second hand car would of had it checked by the RAC but from experiences a few of my friends have had i am left wondering exactlyh what they do and dont check.

Just wondering who in WA is good to get cars checked and what they will check. Will they do compression tests and start the car up to check for radiator leaks ? things like that which it seems the RAC dont do is what im worried about seeing as im NOT a mechanic

Hyperdrive does very thorough checks. Call Ken on 9209 3100. I am pretty sure they do a compression test.

RAC usually check for basic road worthiness. If seeking a bit more detailed inspection, go for the ones mentioned. Compression test are usually extra and that depends on the car. For example, 180SX/S13-15 are pretty easy but RB series takes some time, especially the R34.

cheers guys, and i guess you ask the owner to take it there themself ? but of course you pay ? would that be correct ?

It says on RAC checks that thye don't beleive that compression tests are necessary....yeh good one. This particular car that had been checked be them they said needed a new radiator cap, it had a cracked block.
