Hey mate,

Nobody was home to recieve so i got a thing off tnt saying something was here. I'm pretty sure it will be the rotors, but i'll verify tomorrow when i get em re-delivered! :P cheers

Got mine today... delivered to my office. Damn they are heavy. Ended up carrying them from my office in the city, gone home by train and 15 mins walk from the station... nearly broke my arms in the process, but definitely worth it. Looks good.

Thanks heaps Rianto for organising this. You're a legend mate!

DD

Gee, DD You walked all the way carrying 2 rotors? I almost killed my arms when I carried my pair of fronts from office to car park which is only a 5 min walk. And some people gave me weird looks even though it's in a box, looks like I'm carrying a pair of land mines or something.

heslo's full set would even be heavier I suppose... but glad to hear they're all there safely.

Got mine today and sweet jesus are they heavy!!!! Thanks Rianto, you are a bloody champ!!!

LOL! I catch the train to and from work. I ended up leaving mine in my office here yesterday, drove in last night to pick them up and had a bitch of a time carrying them down from the level i am in, in my building to the car parked on the road.

I'm just leaving mine in the boot till I get them fitted on Saturday.

I aint lifting them again! hehee

ahh plus my office reaked of the oil after locking them in here.

office manager was not happy. LOL

Missed my deliverytoday, unlucky timing we all went out for lunch :O (attempted delivery 12:00 noon)

They left me an authority to leave form for them but I'll have to be here because they will just get nicked from the front driveway otherwise. They are redelivering on Thursday.

Yes you can, but you realised by doing that no one can be held responsible if your item gets stolen... so its only safe to do so if your area is considerably safe or where they leave the goods is not easily visible or accessible from people passing by.

yeh definately brake pad group buy!

Yeah I want DS 2500 Feroddo pads - lets do a group buy!

I heard these are distributed in the ACT, anyone know their number or should we try importing them as a group buy?

i was looking at the same ones and would definitely be in on a GB for that...well i should say depending on the price

Alright, since there's not much interest after 2 batches of order submitted, I'm gonna close this group buy for now.

Once you've received your rotors, please pm me and let me know.

And I'll have a look at pads option and see if the savings they can offer is justifiable enough to start a GB on pads.

Anyone interested to go for the 3rd batch of RDA group buy (e.g. minimum of 10 people) please pm me and I'll start a new thread. In the mean time I can regain some good night sleeps >_<

I was told by my mechanic that the general rule is you should always replace pad when you replaced the rotors, rotors are too expensive to get scored by old pads that has poor surface, I didn't replaced mine but at that time of replacement on the front, the front pads were less than a few thousands km and there's hardly any grooves on the old rotors, so the pads were ok. I'm not sure if sanding or machining your old pad to obtain a flat surface will work just as good as new pad or not...

yes it said on the instructions to replace pads when fitting but i already had the wheel and old rotor off before i read that bit. :) wiped the oil off when i put them on. sqeal has stopped now anyway. bit of a hunt to find bendix advanced pads for skylines no one stocked them. luckily found some though. just need time to fit them now.

the guy at repco said that theres about four different sets of pads for skylines? said these might not be the right ones? the fronts are DB1165AD and the rears are DB1220AD. anyone using anything different? or does this guy just like to pretend he knows what hes on about?

Can you change do mine aswell?:laugh:

Thanks received mine today,,....great group buy to the organisers :D:(

LOL. i'll help you if you want but im not doing it for you. smashed my thumb against the calipar when the bolt finally loosened  dont wanna do that again if i can avoid it. but i'll watch you smash yours if you want some help changing them. :)

    • I replaced the whole clutch line with the chase bays braided hose, I think it removes that loop, is it the short hose that comes immediately off the slave or is there a drawing in the manual to find what you’re referring to? It was just re-bled when I upgraded to the nismo slave, old slave worked fine but I thought that might help, didn’t change a thing. It’s like the first half of the pedal is pushing air and then when it finally actuates the master the friction zone is tiny. Makes it practically impossible to launch the car
    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
