if u are talking about a day permit, u can get the from the dept of transport, which allows you to drive the car where ever between the hours in which the permit starts and ends.

if u arent driving very far, then it should be ok but if u are planning on constantly driving round the more chances of u getting picked on i guess. like i drove my car from maroochydore to caloundra this morning with no exhuast on it, so it oculd get fiuxed, but if i kept driving round with no exhuast then i woulda got picked up for sure. by the way RB with no exhuast = spooling loudly....

85URK you make it sound too easy!

Firstly you have to organise third party insurance.

Then on the appliction form it states-

If the vehicle does not comply with the transport operations (Road Use Management - Vehicle standards and Safety) Regulation 1999 a Police Permit must be obtained

Haha that would have been good to see the 33 screaming off it's tits

I have actually done this my self twice.... Third party insurance... which one (compulsary or the non-compulsary one)? as long as you dont plan to run into someone you should be safe (ie. drive like a slow grandma, be extra careful and dont do stupid things). If your only going to a very short distance, you should be fine as long as you get the one day permit thing.

Yeah what ever insurance is the cheapest.

So did you not have to apply for a police permit? What mods did your car have? Was it inspected?

I'll probably look at getting a permit to last around a week.. Whats the go with trade plates? Can they be used to get a vehicle from where it's stored to a workshop?

Drift limo if your after a Day Permit, you'll need as you said a above, a Police one. Transport won’t give them out on non-complied cars in Queensland.

Obviously you get these ones from the Police station.. I've seen your car they will tell you to tow it, lol.

I've used trade plates on non complied cars to get them around, as I said above transport won't issue pass's on imports with no compliance/ADR plates.

They inspected my bog stock n/a R32 4 door when I went in to get a day pass too, which had all been ADR'd.

relistically i think almost evey mod to my car is a defect. you'd be surprised what's illegal. every mod should really have a mod plate & emissions shouldn't be harmed in any way. Just dont do anything to stand out where u know there is a police presence.

Haha there goes that idea then. See I'm making an effort to abide by the rules, they just make it too hard sometimes..

Hopefully who ever does the tune are lax with their trade plates.

Didnt get a police permit, but I got a day permit from DOT for it... My cars are always standard (sif list all the mods out on the internet).... It was inspected and complied tho (sorry I thought you car is already complied).

Using a trade plate Nismo_Boy already answered it. :P

    • I'm not aware of e30 in Australia, but I'm pretty sure e85 is still around. You really want a setup with an ethanol sensor so you can run any mix of ethanol depending on what you can access. Fuel Check NSW app shows 14 site in sydney metro with e85. What are you adding, will you put in bigger turbs too? Apparently the wastegates are pretty small and can't bypass enough as you run more boost.  I'm sticking to 1.3 bar with 98 on the standard turbos with my tune on advice from the tuner, and boost drops significantly in the top end; apparently larger turbos with larger wastegates are needed to get anywhere meaningful from there.
    • Amazing work Duncan! It is never easy to pick up someone elses project and work all the parts out that are missing
    • Hey Ppl,   I am about to tuned my Infiniti Q60 with E-85 and if you can tell me some location where I can top up my car that would be great.   But my other question, is E-30 available because this tuned requires less mods parts and any info you can offer would be greatly appreciated too!!
    • Hey Duncan,   The parts have already been made by AMS Performance in Chicago, but I still to confirm if there are in Petrol Station in Sydney that sell E-30.   I know there are a few seeling E-85.
    • That probably needs a specific thread....and if you want to run different ethanol mixes you will need the ethanol sensor and wire it into the ECU (which has different requirements depending on the ECU year apparently)
