Firstly greetings to all I'm sure this will be the first of many posts here.

I've gone and bought myself a little S1 Stagea and following the usual time delay from the Japanese docks to here my car has finally arrived. :) but I am going to need an exhaust for registration purposes.

It has a DAYZ rear bar setup on it and I was wondering if a S2 exhaust will fit into a DAYZ rear bar because, if I'm not mistaken, S2's have a twin tailpipe setup?

Any info would be appreciated as I haven't seen the car in the flesh yet and therefore can't measure anything, but it's ohhh sooo close now, I can't wait to give it's first wash and push all the buttons for the first time open the sunrooves etc, etc. :D

Hope to maybe see all you Sydneysiders on the next cruise.

Rhys.

Does the car have an AFM echaust? or it doesnt have one? If you only need for the complianc purposes where are you located at? Which compliance center are you gonna use?

what's an AFM exhaust?

also the exhausts are the same from the turbo back, i'm not sure if there's a different flange for the NEO turbo though.

Yes, series 2 have twin tail pipes

The R34 Neo turbo flange is the same as the series 1 R33 turbo

Series 2 Stagea need 2 cat's

One goes in the standard location and another smaller ones fits in the dump pipe section.

Thanks Ska

Stasis: It does have an aftermarket exhaust on it at the moment that was re-fitted after compliance, the rear muffler has been cut off so that a repair can be done to the rear bar that some Japanese genuis :D decided to mutilate in order to make an incorrect exhaust fit the vehicle.

Imagine this image with the rear muffler removed so it does not interfere with the bar that has since been repaired:

My location is in Sydney but this is something I could do on the hoist at work. So I was wondering if by chance I come accross a S2 std cat back would the twin tailpipe muffler fit? (or even better if I can find a S1 cat back that I know 100% will fit) Just so the car will pass EPA/DBA requirements etc so I can get number plates on the car and it doesn't have to be tilt-trayed everywhere costing me coin.

Any suggestions or anyone willing to lend/rent me an exhaust they have lying around would be greatly appreciated, I'll even cover it in black pressure pack for you so you can sell it easier when I bring it back as unmarked as you lent it to me :D

sorry cant help you then

stasis: thanks anyway mate :D

I still don't know if a S2 rear muffler's dual pipes will fit under my bar? And will that dual muffler setup that darrinspencer mentioned present any mounting drama's?

If anyone can help, I'll say thank you?? :D

Stasis: Sorry mate, I'll try and explain this a bit better, car turns up from Japan with exhaust as seen in the photo, exhaust is removed, standard exhaust (belonging to compliance shop fitted) car passes compliance, aftermarket exhaust refitted, rear muffler had to be cut off so that the rear bar could be repaired. (see pic and imagine what it looks like with repaired lower bar and no muffler now and that's what I'll be dealing with when my car turns up)

So now I have an extremely noisy exhaust with no rear muffler on a car that needs to pass a blue slip. Once that's done and the car's registered

Sorry if I confused you mate, I have a roundabout way of explaining things that usually makes sense only to me. :D

i think mounting wise they would be the same, i dont see why they would have changed the mounting brackets.

the onyl difference i see is the twin tips being an issue as the rear bar is moulded for a single tip.

Bingo!!

wagonwheels i have a standard S2 exhaust sitting in my garage going cheap if you want it. if you want just the cat back then let me know and come around.

i am located in sydney.

Really? If it fits mate it's as good as gone pending the amount of coin you want for it. I don't want to waste your time and mine though Wolverine so I need to establish if it will fit. (I don't want to have to cut the rear bar to make it fit :D

if it fits i'm sure we can agree on a fair price.

one teeny weeny problem, I don't have the car yet, I kinda wanted to have the exhaust at work so that when the car get's dropped off I can throw it on the hoist, change the exhaust, get the car registed and then drive my new baby all night until I feel a microsleep coming on, crawl into the back and see how much more comfy she is than the dog kennel for future nights when I upset the misus.

I'll keep you in mind mate cheers.

I think I might post a WTB in for sale section for a S1 first though, at least I know it won't give me any drama's

if you want to take it and consider any payment a refundable deposit (in the event it doesn't fit) that's cool with me.

you Stagea boy's are mighty friendly I've been finding out today, I've put a WTB in the Stageafieds for a S1 exhaust but if I don't find one mate I'll take up your offer if I need to go the S2 direction, providing you haven't sold it by then that is???
