Do You Have To Use Pod With Fmic?

Curious to findout what other people have said in here.

I have finally installed my fmic but I have realised that the stock air box snorkel wont fit anymore.

I was told to just buy a pod and make a CAI.

The thing is that I prefer the stock airbox with the k&n filter in it.

Is there anyway at all to modify the stock box to make it fit?

Yeah I was thinking of doing that.

Just have to figureout how to.

I know I can cut it but I'm wondering if how I can weld plastic to plastic?

we weld plastic at work with a high frequency welder, but i dont suppose you have that.

The best way to do ti is to cut it, then use silicone to join it back together.

Sorry not really a DIY type of guy unless I know what Im doing.

Is there a type of silicone that I would need?

Im pretty sure you can get them from bunnings or h/ware store

yeah any canned silicone should do.

just put some gloves on and join it up. although, it will take around 24hours to dry completley.

the stuff we use can handle above 350 degrees. so having it in an engine bay ( as long as its not on the exhaust manifold ) should be fine.

mate, just weld the plastic together with a soldering iron.

tac weld it all around then fill in all the gaps.

go into the stagea forum, the stick called DIY/FYI, then "The Intercooler Thread" and you'll see what i did
