i have been doing a check around in last week and i think thats what im going to do.. that is i found a gts4 and a decent price RB26DETT and do a transplant. will have to add the extra but has anyone done this b4?? will it be difficult for the conversion? i have beefed up the rotors and shocks as well , hope goes well in next month!!

the engine comes with a GTR gearbox. but if your saying the original gearbox will stand up(maybe with rebuild) this will prove cheaper, however knowing gearboxes with more hp bigger gearbox would be wise..

there is a process im looking at getting done on the box called cryo tempering which super freezes the parts individually. seems good mod for strengthening box and clutch (the company says up to 300%!!? will try as this is project car . sold the rex.

If its an r32 gts 4 the swap should be fine as the gear boxes are similar if its an r33 you will need a gtr gear box and this swap has been done they aren't cheap but they are rewarding re the swap the is has great sleeper appeal

I have a GTS4 and a complete GTR (minor front damage)for parts and if all goes well in the next few weeks I will transplant every thing that I can from the GTR to the GTS4 as I feel that the drivetrain might not be the same.

Though it has already been done before..

Have you seen "High octane 3" Ketzal has a GTS4 with a RB26 in it though you don't get to see it run as it had gearbox trouble!

But any move from Subaru to Nissan is a move in the right direction, so keep up the good work!

sim97: the gts4 gearbox won't stand a days work with the gtr engine in it. The gts4 gearbox has the same housing as the gt-r, however internals are v diff, much weaker, and r32 gt-r boxes are bad enough too...

the r33 or r33 gt-r boxes are apparently the ones to get

I have heard this too and will be sticking with the R33 gearbox that is with the engine. it seems some of the piping needs replacing does anyone recommend the steel with maybe a thermal wrap or ceramic coating or go for silicone pipes (intercooler pipes , radiator and few others)
