I Just rang Suncorp Metway for a quote for my soon to be R33 GTST and I got Quoted for full cover $961 a year :uh-huh:

The guy on the phone couldn't believe it himself he said he has never seen a quote for a import Skyline that low he had to go and check with his supervisor to make sure it was correct.

It's bloody cheaper then my 323 SP20:(

It aint easy being under 25 with a sports car. Id rather take my chances with third party fire and theft than pay 4 grand a year. You only live once and you havent lived till youve owned a skyline :D How corny is that haha

yep, I would never not have comprehensive...especially since I have had a personal loan for every car i've owned and my parents always said to me "just think what it would be like - still having to pay back that loan, but with no car" :D

insurance companys are farked!

try ringing in a couple of days and i bet they quote u a different price

I totally agree, forget different days, just ring straight back and speak to someone else. The price can vary by $1000.

to be completely honest, i think its up to the individual if they want to comprehensively insure their car, ...

i really get annoyed when people say, oh if you can afford the insurance then you cant afford the car, yes you can, you have the car,

i recently got a quote for 8600 a year, from NRMA, with my r32 gtst being worth around 16000(i put that in as agreed value)

now if anyone here would pay that, then you deserve to be shot...

Prank, i can understand paying that amount for a gtr.. its worth atleast twice my gtst... and i would be more then happy at paying half of what you do to insure my car..

i just had a nice think about it, now...

last year as most of you know i went through a barbed wire fence...

now, lets say i wasnt insured.. it would have cost about 7800 all up, including me changing the front bar, and color which didnt need to be done,

now people might say, i didnt damage much, but remember 90% of the car had to be resprayed because of the barbed wire..

so if i had that same crash, and same cost this year, and didnt have insurance, i have saved 800, on the premium, dont forget the excess which is 800 aswell..

now, the way i think of it best is to sorta insure yourself.. have a look at the premiums, and simply save that much over the year, or as quick as you can, and put in it an invester account, which you can access if need be, but it earns more money, and then same thing next year... but once you have the valued amount of your car, no more doing it. because a) your money will grow untill you take the money out.. and B) the worst you could do is right it off, costing you the amount you have saved...

paying half the cost of the car to insurance company is ludachrist.

Are you asking me PranK? If so mine is stock at the moment. But they never asked me for any extras or mods.

I did ring Suncorp Metway a couple of days earlier and they Quoted me about $940 a year, but he did tell me that it could change, I got the quote number of him so I have about a week to act on the $961 Quote.

I also asked them if a alarm would make a difference in price but he said that it wouldn't make a difference.

I'll have to ring them again to see how they are about mods and how much more they would charge.
