Not saying it's a good idea (personally I reckon it'd be a bitch on fuel, plus no fun to drive) but from memory there's a QLD GTST, and one from Vic running powerglide transmissions. Both are daily driven. Not sure if there's any info on SAU, but could be worth a look.

There is a marron gtst with plates H8 GRIP or something like that in qld that has a powerglide in it.

YouTube r33 powerglide it's the marron one

What trans temp does it run at...?

I am using a 30row engine oil cooler for mine. Trans temp hasnt gone above 60degrees while having some spirited driving.

f**k knows, its just the car to take kids to school ..i put them both in there as i had them sitting around and a "built" RE401RB box is marginal i think once i fit turbo and run 22psi with the weight of the car. I just wanted to take no chances,as heat is the biggest killer of auto boxes . i found one cooler with transbrake and slippery converter wasn't that great in R31, will be having 2 in R31 next time aswell, its quite normal in the U.S, here i only commonly see one fitted.

cheers

darren

My cooler setup, two 30 row coolers, one 12an for oil and one with 8an for the trans. (plus the PS cooler.) Not much room left. lol.

The engine oil cooler has a 14 inch fan on it, and the transmission one has a 9 inch spal. Both fans electronically controlled off temp sensors in the cooler return lines.

Mine is a bit more of a squeeze than that. I dont have room for fans and my coolers almost touch side by side. Even with the grout in the block water temp still seems fine

hey guys , as stated above heat is the killer of auto boxes

recommended transmission coolers for my r33 gtst series 2 for easy fitment and good quality?

how much should I expect to pay to install it? (cant and wont do it myself as im mechanically retarded)

get the biggest one you can from Supercheap or whatever - shouldn't be more than an hour's labour to install - get some quotes if you're worried.

Read this even if you don't plan to do it yourself:

Replace the coilovers with stock suspension, put smaller rear wheels 15/16 inch with street drag radials, hi stall torque converter, mv auto shift kit have some fun.

My question, how much can a stock 32 auto take? Has 33 turbo with vg30 rear housing and supporting mods.

Thanks for the advice. Its my daily and I want a nice looking car with a bit of poke , so I dont really want to ditch the coilovers and run 16's.

Would a high stall &/or a shift kit net me a second? really want to get into the 5's

what are you guys doing 0-100km/h in your auto's?

A shift kit is a must at much over stock power.

All a high stall converter will do for you is to lose you power, but it may help get you off the line a little quicker. If you have the stock turbo, leave the converter alone.

thanks for the input. Why exactly am i so slow getting to 0-30km/h and the engine only really starts pulling hard to 100? Cant be that much turbo lag since its only a tiny turbo on the rb25
