I run a genuine JDM air freshner, does that count for something?

I wish I did... :P

P.S How do I fix the poll up?

P.P.S this might sound like the most random poll in the world, but believe me, there is a point to it all :(

I have air conditioning and ive got 260rwkw and with a simple tune I could get another 80rwkw with no issues.

There is no way I would ever think about disconnecting my air conditioning. If the air con is in the way then I would spend more time and money to work around it.

End of story. Air con is goood.

Got aircon but definitely would NOT sacrifice it as my car is black and would be an oven without it on a summers day! :P

Air con is a necessary evil for daily drivers.

How much power does it rob:

A. With the compressor working.

B. with the compressor clutched/freewheeling.

C. With the air con switched off.

I would have guessed at:

A. 3-5hp

B. 2-4 hp

C. 0-2 hp

In which case a fix up at brand X service station vs brand Y service station or 5psi more/less in your tyres would do similar things.

Does anybody really know?? I'd be interested to find out.

I don't know why people want to get rid of the ac. I mean with it switched off you're losing the amount of power it takes to spin a fan belt and idler. Bugger all.

Then the weight loss? Probably 20 kilos.

All this and then summer comes along and you'll have regrets. If you want more power look into engine upgrades I say.

I'm thinking in more of running shorter pipes to the intercooler.

Like the setup I've got in my R32 (SR20), but with the RB's the aircon gets in the way of this sort of setup as the intercooler needs to sit in between the radiator support :D

Are you going to stick a small supercharger in place of the A/C? I mean... I doubt anyone would get rid of a working A/C in a daily driver? There'd have to be a BIG benefit to justify removing it. Certainly not for the minimal power loss from just having it connected.

Keen to see what you guys are up to!

WD40... windows down @ 40 degrees :) seriously though, aircon is damn near a necessisty, keep it and run more boost to make up for the reduced power (you probly wouldnt notice it anyway if its only 5hp on a 350hp+ car, im assuming your project car will run this, if not more) :)
