ok guys it's an unconvention setup more 4 looks so don't bag it, but i need to know what amp or amps i need and how to wire up 3 alpine type s 12 inch subs, there just entry lvl ones guessing 4 ohm, low cost simple solution don't wanna spend big dollars prob buy second hand or ebay

is it possible to somehow wire them together to creat a 1ohm load and just buy a single monoblock amp that is 1ohm stable?

wiring soloution and desired amp specs would be great cheers

Dont run 1ohm unless its for the occasional spl comp, for street use no less than 4 ohm. 1ohm is ok for a few minutes then you get masses of heatsoak in the amp and cables which reduces power to less than what you would have if you ran 4ohm.

To run that many subs it will cost you quite a bit, really you would need 3 amps and some really heavy duty cabling (cables on thier own would run into a few hundred) running all that gear wont even sound twice as loud as a single sub and amp... up to you

a little more info needed.

do you have

SWS-1222D Type-S 12" Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer (2Ohm + 2Ohm)

or

SWS-1242D Type-S 12" Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer (4Ohm + 4Ohm)

Depending on the woofers you have the wiring configuration will be different. Let me know and I will work it out for you, find you an amp and refer you to a dealer for a great price.

As for 1 ohm, there are amplifiers that will comfortably run at 1 ohm. They are specific D class monoblocks.

You must remember though, the lower you go in load (ohms) the less precise your power will be. Meaning, that if you are after flat out sound, 1 ohm is fine. If you are after sound quality you would be better wiring them at 4 ohm.

One thing to remember. Stay away from really cheap dodgy amps. You know the ones, rated at 11 million watts pmpo and selling for $99.00 at your local crap shop.
