SubzeroR33,

If I were to do it again I would buy something thats already had a heap spent on it.

A PEARL of wisdom! where were you when I was looking for clean and stock! I must admit choosing all the bits etc yourself is fun but you can save a boatload of cash by buying an intelligently modded example... I have seen some killer cars getting let go for great prices on this forum over the years

If you're worried about the car depreciating 5grand in a year then just dont buy a brand new car, you'll lose 5K just by driving it away from the dealership on day one.

Very VERY true

if it does come to under 15k - justuse it for the track and get yourself something nice to cruise around

I bought my 1992 R32 gtst manual with a full HKS exhaust, a bit of a kit and a few other bits and pieces on it for $9400 a year ago!

I have put a bit into it since but i don't plan on selling her..

one day she'll just be my track car and i'll get a GTR for my daily

I enjoy every moment i spend driving my skyline... and you only live life once so why not enjoy it!

I remember just after I finished high school, R33 GTRs were going for close to 80 grand!!! now some 7 years later their actually cheaper than your basic brand new commodore or falcon!! If anything I'd feel those guys :) A car is car I have a 92 180sx that we bought 3 years ago for 15 grand, now we've spent over 15 grand on it and its not even worth 15 grand, cars are there to be enjoyed not invested in :P

maybe if ppl didnt buy so many r33s this might never of happened. the competition between sollers and import places are absolutely shockn. whats the one car u can garentee to see everytime u drive? yep.......a r33.

i am willing to bet that if everyone bought lambos as much as r33s.....the price would be alot cheaper.

oh and u dont no what a price drop is unless uve spent 8g on a computer system to only see it worth less then 4g 2 years later

lol you want too see money disapear go race speedway for 20 yrs . the only way to end up with a small fortune racing is to have started with a large fortune lol . if ya worried about how much ya gunna lose dont buy the bloody thing in the first place just use and enjoy

yeah, i agree with most here. i enjoy driving my car heaps, i usually rack up most my ks cruising the hills on weekends. my skyline is my main hobby. i see friends smoke and drink their money away week after week, so i see that money spent on my skyline at least has something to show for it. i just see past the negatives, because i am a car enthusiast and would much rather have my money pit R33 that makes me happy than something more conservative and economical that i dont like.

Considering you can get a Grade 4 - S2 R33 GTS-t for 15.5k landed and registered direct from a importer, People dont need to spend 19k for one thats been hear longer and has more km's.

Importers are making it easier to get these cars. Theres a place in Melb that has a flat rate of 16.5k for a grade 3.5 - 4. R33 S2 with around 60,000km.

A decent example will sell for around 8k (AUD) in Japan these days.
