I have now started my front end conversion and have had a few people express interest in doing the same

I have bought a set of genuine Masa Motorsport front guards with a cost of approx $1150 for the pair delivered from JP

I am looking into the costs of getting a set of moulds made of the guards. Before I decide to go ahead, I would like to know if anyone else is serious about doing the same conversion and would be interested in buying a set

The final cost of he complete conversion will be approx $4000-6000, depending on how much you do yourself and if genuine or fibreglass panels are used.

Due to a limited run I would expect the guards to sell for $600 pair.

Hi Darrin, any more news on the front guards for the R34 conversion.

Hows your car going?

Cheers

The guards will get copied in the next 2-3 weeks

Price has come down to approx $500 pair

My conversion is coming along very slowly

Just have not had enough time......house reno

Front is stripped, radiator support removed, guards mounted, having problems with bonnet hinge mounting. Need to make custom brackets/spacers. Once I get the bonnet mounted hopefully this week-end I can then work out the location of the R34 radiator support. unfortunitly is not a direct swap. Once I get this sorted, it will just need painting.

Will start a new thread next week with pic's

whats the legal ramifications of having fibreglass guards will it be ok legally and insurance wise?

i know the xtrail has plastic front quarters from the factory so not sure

They can make ADR legal ones, but they cost more, ie thicker glass

When I got a insurance quote from Shannons they were fine about the conversion

Cheers Darrin,

Will you be able to PM me with a few photos, so I can sort payment, once you a ready to sell/ship.

Look forward to a thread on the conversion too, probably won't be able to do it without one.

Also are you still able to source/sell me a R34 hood and front end in f'glass, if so what are they worth to me.

Thanks Again

Hi Darrin, any more news on the Masa copies?

Thanks

They will happen, but not for another 4-5 weeks

Just too busy at the moment with house reno to even look at the Stagea.

Hopefully when the house gets the new roof on over the next 2 week-ends, I will get some time.

If you really need them sooner, Pm me.

The moulds are finally ready and the guards can be bought for $550 pair from DMD the Image.

All sales go thru them. (I am not getting anything in return from sales)

The first set have already been sold which will end up on Australia's first 4.1L turbo V8 powered Stagea!
