Surging When Boosting

I was on the freeway last night and noticed that my car was surging in 5th from 80km/h as i was trying to gain speed. It would hit 5psi and bounce up and down to 2psi while fluttering. Could it be because i was suppose to drop a gear before giving it some? I tested it on both uphill and flat road, but still had the same problem. I'm running vortex 98, turbo back, wolf 3d, 18psi t3/t4 hiflow, denso pump, nismo 555cc, greddy type-s plumback

What boost control do you use, I would have thought that if your only doing 80 on the highway and booted the accelerater you would change down yes. Forcing fuel into any car in a lower gear traveling at labouring speeds and yeah its going to choke. Does it happen when your driving spirited normally.

i know with the hybrid controllers if u hit the button under throttle itll go haywire and loose its cut off, hence boosting off the clock, i know of 1 car that has done this,been in it and seen it happen

im using the turbotech boost controller. It doesnt surge if i rev every gear out properly, it only happens if im rolling and boot the accelerator (usually the rpm is on 2800 then).

could possibly be your mapping in the ecu. The tuner might not of allowed for that much load for little rpm.
