guys

i think i am after some good tyres (michelin / fulda) in melbourne.

Any good recommendations??

thanks!

I have always found Total Tyres in Moorabbin in Oakleigh to be great prices.. They are not yard apes who change them either they never scratch my friends painted rims whereas numerous others did.

95698666 - you'll probably talk to rob or shaun, it's at least worth a call for prices. They have a website but it is not a good representation of what stock they have.

If they (or anyone else) have good prices but aren't in your area see if your local tyre joint will do things for the same price, saves a trip then and you'll have somewhere local

They can get in rims too, not all, but I got some prices off rob. Some of the rims where cheaper than the other places around, but again try and see if your local place will do it for the same price.. or better it

Good Luck

You need to work out what size first....some tyre sellers have specials on some sizes and makes.

Do some ringing around, you'll get the feel of things after the second call.

Cheers.

Just remember the basics.

SHOP AROUND.

Tyre places make a huge margin on tyres, usually 38% to 59% Gross profit. If they tell you its " a great deal" and they cant do it, they are usually lying because they do not want to drop below their profit margin. They know every tyre place is the same and wont want to drop below the same point.

The way to get a good deal is to call around, get prices and play them off each other. Use Bob Janes " GED - Get every deal" code ( this is what they put low gp sales under and store level so the salesperson still get commission).

Once you start to learn the way their business's work it is not to hard to exploit them for your gain.

Works the same everywhere. ( well, nearly everywhere)
