HI ALL

Well i finally got arround to fitting my FLYEN dump pipe, the bellmouth one. I have new gasket on the turbo to dump no goo or anything, one of them proper gaskets form Nissan, but old ones on the cat.

Now for two days it was fine, but now, when you start it, it almost sounds like there is an exhaust leak somwhere, but inside the pipe, does it when warm too.

I have gone through all the bolts, all nice and tight, cheacked for leaks, can't feel anything, anywere. turbo, cat, manifold, all good.

The car still pulls like it did, no loss of power or anything.

You can't seam to hear it directy outside but more inside, like inside the pipe. I am thinking that now that the O2 sensor is more in the flow of the turbo, maybe that is making the sound.

I am going to get new gaskets for the cat, and put them in, just to make sure. But has anyone else had a simmilar problem to this?

ANYONE?

and o2 sensor wouldnt make that noise.

generally when something sounds like something, it is the thing it sounds like. its not like chicken where everything tastes like chicken :D

you say you have tightened the bolts and nuts, have you tightened the o2 sensor?

an easy way to see if it is leaking is to get a mate to cover the exhuast tip and seal it up with a rag over his hand. do it when cold to prevent burning him. this will so if there is a leak and where it is. go under the car and feel with your hand around all joints and connections. you ll feel if it is leaking

Its not unusual to get more noise when you go to a larger diameter dump and front pipe...what you're hearing is probably resonance from the air in the pipe...also the dump you have is thinner than the stock cast iron pipe so you'll hear more too...i got the same noise on my last 2 turbo cars when i changed the dump pipes...sounds good if you ask me...so don't worry about it...
