R33 Coil Packs, Series 1 Interchangable With Series 2?

I need to find out if the R33 coil packs are interchangable from the series 2 into the series 1 model??

Does anyone have hard evidence e.g. information from Nissan Japan on whether this is possible/recomended or not??

If not maybe information off an import parts specialist??

I have tried nissan australia and they had no idea!

Nope they are different, as the series 1 has the ingiter box to give the spark and the series 2 has this built into the coil pack itself.

are you wanting to put series 2 in a series 1 motor, or the other way round?

i'm sure it could be done, but its not a simply unplug/plug in job. if you want to put series 2 into a series 1 you have to remove the ignitor box. i'm not sure if the wirin harnesses are different as well). to put series 1 into a series 2 you have to add the ignitor.

No it is a warranty issue with a car yard, they are trying to give me series 2 packs to go in my series 1 but they dont beleive me when i told them you cant interchange.

I just need like an offical word from Nissan or a certified parts dealer just so it is in writing that the packs can not be used.

just show them the part numbers, they are different which is a pretty good indication they are different parts.
