Not talking about brakes, just misc. engine water and oil hoses :O

I gave Motorsport Connections a call and they are sending me up a catalogue with all the fittings and lines etc

All the bends were $20 each...

The hose it self was $30 a metre for the 10mm stuff...

The fittings for the turbo BB cartridge were $110 for all 4 (damn gcg fittings, bloody expensive)

EDIT: I have not technically paid for the speedflow fittings and the braided line yet... So i guess they cost me nothing...

Thats not too bad, i would have expected it to be more expensive then that since autobarn is normally good at overpricing everything and every guy there knows almost nothing about cars, same as supercheap except they have import stuff at lame prices.

Michael most auto barns are not too bad...

You need to undertsand their franchised and have huge over heads. The back yeard jobbies are the ones who make it had to make a buck and set their prices at unsustainable prices.

$20-25 a fitting for rocket industries speed flow fittings is the going rate, no ones cheaper or dearer everyone seems to be the same.

I use Bayside hose and fittings but they make everything up for me....not DIY. Pretty much can get any fitting you want and make whatever you want....just gotta give him lengths etc.

The other place you might want to try is Catchme performance in Woodridge...tell him I referred you and he'll show you...and be able to sell...the fittings required and how to make them. They do all of their braided work in-house.

dont forget to mention that shane needs notice. quite busy down there with the recently influx of cars he just had booked in with him over the past few wks.

Yeh i understand thats how they work and all...but sometimes their stuff is way off the mark....ill give an example...We rang them about a 48mm wastegate, a turbosmart one i believe it was. Their quoted price over the phone was just shy of $1000. Ok yeh fair enough, well we bought a 48mm turbosmart wastegate from hioctane for just under $700...We only tried autobarn because they were up the road from work at lawnton. Asked them what the go was just to see what they would say about it, the bloke was shocked and couldnt believe that we could buy it for that cheap. $300 dollars is a big difference in my opinion. Either way hioctane send freight overnight, so we got it the next day anyway.

But for the fittings you are right they are usual prices...as per the norm.

And im yet to come across a guy at an autobarn or supercheap that actually knows what they are talking about. No offense to anyone who works at one and may know something about cars.

Not sure a DIY kit is going to meet the ADR requirements. Getting them fitted isn't all the expensive anyway, I believe.

Last thing you want is a DIY failure on the brakes !!

while someones has mentioned brakes... i have ADR approved braided telfon coated front braided brake lines.

cost me $220 for a pair - you can get them. just need to look.

there's a mob that does mobile auto hose repairs.... cant remember the number, they do good work and come to your place.. obviously because you'd have to take whatever hose off the car.
