R33 on fire, has asked a question and all he gets is stupid answers and you wonder why its the same members posting the same crap on here who wants to be spoken to by smart arses, and im sure all the so called hotspots you mentioned, the cops already know about so whats the big deal of giving a newbie some information.

SubzeroR33, you just answered all you questions yourself???? Develop a thicker skin! If someone/anyone comes onto the forums and asks these types of questions, they are going to receive the same treatment because I for one do not want undue attention by the constabulary. Even though my car is perfectly legal, being near these "hot spots" will get you defected for whatever the police can think up at the time, regardless of whether it is legal or not. I'm not having a shot at the police either, just some of their over-zealous members.

Hi all QLD owners.

Ive just bought my first R32 within a couple of week of moving out here (i think you guys would call me a pom) just writing to say G'day and if any local brisbane owners see a red R32 blasting about give me a flash :P ...(of your bloody headlights :D )

That is a good way not to get flamed, i"m still only a noobie my self and even i wanted to ;) this "r33 on fire"

i agree 100% with Rhinorebel

So how many would go to a newbie cruise, Have you ever seen a newibe cruise, i havent because no one turns up. I have noticed the short time i have been a member on this forum that people try an organsie a cruise and get no response. If you wanted to save your self drivin around brisbane lookin for cars you would ask the same question. Why be so paranoid if he is a cop as i said the cops already know where the hotspots are.

Well if you are so worried about the hotspots and cops dont drive your car, because it doesnt matter where you go you will always get pulled over when you drive a modified car, you will get good and bad cops that is reality.

Now who sounds like a cop???

And to answer the question about new members organising cruises. It has been done and I attended. Bryn tried hard and the route was great. Too bad the police were at the top of Mt Coot-tha waiting for anyone to come along. And they couldn't ping any of us!!

Maybe iam a cop im watching you Rhinorebel, im sitting outside your house right now, im looking at your car it looks pretty defectable to me, LOL. Its alright mate.

What im getting at is that we should make people feel a bit more welcome when they join and not flame them and see how they can take it, and when someone does organise a cruise numbers are pretty low, i know people have other commitments and all but i know some cant be bothered either. Lets make the cruises a bit bigger and im not talkin about cruising every thursday night that does get a bit boring, same places, same cops. Have one every two months or so going to a different destination and give plenty of notice.

I think all skyline owners have now got a case of PARANOIA!

You can hardly blame us.. considering each one of us would have had our cars raped by the "popo" at lease once!

Stop looking to start trouble Dave. Newbies on any forum cop some flaming. Those doing the flaming are a mixture of both.

I'm not trying to start trouble. I was simply asking the question. I never realised the new/old school thing even existed until recently, hence asking if this was an example of that.

But as its been brought up else where as being a problem I think this is a prime example. Now just lucky this guy seems to have a good sense of humor. But his coment (below) should be noted, as this is apparently what was being discussed.

So to make my point, there seems to be no new/old school thing, which Dave you have pointed out. But newbies feel unwelcome, yes he has asked a stupid question, but he wasnt to know, he does now but maybe not in the best way.

BTW Dave its not aimed directly at you, its aimed at the people who brought up the problem previously. Just to clear that up.

In regards to the orginal question, BWCP is really about it on Saturday night. Its not as bad as everyone says. If you be stupid you will get done, dont be stupid you should be right, its pretty straight forward.

Fridays is nothing.

Thursdays as you have found out is Milton. Which can be defectsville.

But yeah, owning an import doesnt mean tickets. I've only been pulled over 2 times in almost 4 years in my Cefiro. So I think there are normally other factors.

I always seem to fall in the middle. I joined and met a lot of people who are now "identified" as old school. But I was difinitely part of the new school group and so they started using my join date as the cut-off date. Anyone who joined after was new school and anyone lucky enough to have joined before was old school. I got put in whichever group was in trouble at the time.....

Welcome to Brisbane and I hope to see you out some time. Come along to one the regular Tuesday dinners and meet us and the 'hot spots' can be explained in more detail. Don't be offended by any of the previous posts, its just the new guy hazing and people are weary about the unknown asking to know where all the hot spots are for fear of said person being a cop.

The generic hot spots which often have a high level of cars and presence by 'The Fuzz' are as follows.

Milton McDonalds.

Aspley McDonalds.

Broadwater Car Park at the Gold Coast and basically anywhere on the coast at any time on a Friday or Saturday night, there are punters wondering around doing laps all night.

The Spit car park on a Sunday arvo is also packed out and gets plenty of police attention.

THANKS mrbenno MAYBE I'LL MEET SOME NICE PEOPLE THERE :D

    • Yesterday's day in review: All the wiring to the lights up the front how I want it, is ran, terminated, and all to length. The only lighting up front I haven't finished is the side indicators, as I need to get to the partly cutup factory loom, and find the plugs for them. Interesting note, the side indicators use the exact same plug that's in the doors for something else that I don't remember what it is... So that plug better be careful...   Power steering solenoid, on the R33 is variable, and from memory PWM. The Ford's control from the docs I have so far, is it's just a on or off control. So I'm not sure it's what I want, and in any case, power steering running, but at its heaviest (solenoid off) is likely what I'll want anyway, so I'm not yet touching it at all. All the wiring I can complete so far, is done. There are 3 wires I need to make a plug for at the ECU, and these are just for the vehicle speed sensor, of which I need to get a T5 from an AU, so I can use its output that has the speed sensor on it. (My car doesn't have ABS, otherwise I'd set it up to use one of the ring gears on that). I need to buy new headlight globes and front parker globes, otherwise I could show photos of lights working. Current fuel lines in and out on this motor are "5/16". I'll order hardline, and some AN fittings for that, and I just need to 100% check fuel line size at the tank end, to get the ends for it. I'm also looking at a few options for the banjo bolts to AN fittings for the power steering rack. I'll pull the reservoir off the Barras PS pump. There's an off the shelf fitting for that pump for a -10 AN feed, and it'll use a 16mm to dash -6 an outlet to feed the rack. I'll be making my own power steering reservoir, I'm going through the thought process at the moment of how I'll run the baffles, and I need to research another idea for it too.
    • Two inlet runners changes the engines characteristics requiring less fuel to make torque at different points in the rev range. The smaller diameter inlet runners on the DET increases air flow speed, which improves atomisation of fuel, particularly in low load/idle for better burn, and in specific areas of the engine, (areas you would use when driving normally) increases the efficiency. All of those items change how efficient the engine is at different speeds. The changes on the neo help slightly to improve emissions where it matters. The overall improvements won't be the likes of going from an engine built in the 70s to an engine built in the 2000s, it's just a small step. But still leaves it the RB with the best chance of improvement.   As for your comment about the whole using a cat to not need to worry about those gases. Two things, no system is 100% perfect. It won't eliminate everything. So reduce the quantity you put into it, you still reduce the output. Two, make that system do less work, and it's likely to survive a little bit longer. Funnily enough to, one trick employed to get cats up to temp, AND to drastically reduce emissions before they get up to temp, is to reduce ignition timing.
    • Maybe I should have written that a bit better lol. I did come 8th last in English at school during the HSC, ironically spent 2 decades reading/writing specifications and contracts in IT 😂
    • Right, but that's in-cylinder, there's the interaction between that and the TWC which complicates things. Pulling out timing to reduce NOx is a strategy I saw in transitional emissions vehicles like stuff from 1974 or so. The two inlet runner system is interesting but I'm not sure it makes a huge difference as far as emissions goes, is it a tumble valve? I've seen stuff like that even in cars from the late 80s.
    • Hello all,   so i recently swapped out my rb20de neo with an rb25de neo( engine, transmission, wiring and the diff everything) but i just cant get the gear indication light on the dash to work when i switch to tiptronic mode. Note there is a steering wheel switch beside the shifter and i dont have that. I did notice yesterday while switching to tiptronic that the indicator on the dash started to work but it didn't afterwards. Does anyone know how this actually works? Or do i still need that steering wheel switch to be connected and on for that gear indicator to work?
