hey ppl, i have all the neccessary equipment to do it (motec, fully sik engine its still a 2.6 well 2.65 now i guess, fully sik head ported with big cams, springs & retainers standard springs, fuel system, ignition system and even some happy gas). Im pretty set on a particular setup which is twin t67 25g with the 8cm rears (our buddies in jp use the 10cm rears but i was hoping to reach boost a little earlier because its a street car). Theres sum switched on guys in here so i thought i'd ask. wat turbos should i run to make atleast 750hp at the wheels on pump with additives "toluene". i want to keep it twin every1's suggestions would be very much appreciated thanks guys.

750rwhp or 1000 @ the fly?

There is a bit of difference.

Twin 2835r's will get it in the twin department if memory serves me correctly.

Personally i wouldnt use twins.

Either way, its gonna be very late in power delivery with the 2.6

i just wrote 1000 to get ppls attention i want to make 750 at the wheels its impossile to calculate to the flywheel power unless the engine goes on an engine dyno. i know it will be late delivery im not expecting anything before 5000rpm but hopefully full boost by 5500-6000rpm would be good, the 2835's i dont think will do it, i had 3037's b4 and without trying them got rid of them.

2835's could do it, depends allot on the "supporting" mods, internals, headwork etc. That's where smart tuning comes into play, e.g sealed cold air intake, ceramic coated intake pipes/wrapped in heat tape, insulated/heat taped exhaust manifolds, turbo shroud/heat shield, heat wrapped dumps etc. Just allot of basic things, either way it will give you a better result in the long run

I might be doing a few more of these things soon, e.g getting a CAD designed cold air box and getting it made at work, seal it up and insulate it etc

If you think twin 3037's wont make over 750rwhp... you have some severely poor information

450rwkw on the fuel was attained from 2530's, so the 2835r's will push a lot more than that without much of an issue given the car has been build right.

With your stock displacement its going to be a bitch to get to boost. why didnt you gofor a JUN stroker or even the HKS since the cash is no option, the HKS 2835 twins will do the job just fine they can even be more responsive than say a T51-SPL. if lag is no option id go the big single way. but the twins are quite capable to push your power requirement

If you really have as built an engine as you say you do, ditch the twin idea and put on a T51R-SPL. Friends car which is a 2.7L litre is on full song by 5000rpm and on standard pump fuel with no additives, no nos etc is making 560kw at all four wheels.

If you are really against the single idea you could go a set of Trust TD06-20G's. Once again, another friends car that turned out 520rwkw on pretty low boost on standard pump fuel. Response was worse than the T51R-SPL though.

im not using race fuel my car will be run by rh9 rules, i dunno how the hell he made that much power with 2530 but damn that would rip on the street, i had 2530's before i decided to do all this. i dont want 1, i want 2, i knew the 3037's would make the power but i want the light switch effect of the trust turbos not the gradual ball bearing build up its good but ye i dunno. a few of the rh9 cars do run 3037 that is y i originally got them but a few also run t67's anyway thanks for ur input every1 twin t67 is the go 4 me.

There was a jap RB26DETT that made 700awkw on twin 3037's. I forget exactly which one.

2.7L litre on standard pump fuel 560kw at all four wheels.

Sheesh, so like 600rwkw in rwd drive on pump fuel from a 2.7L?????

Hmmm, i dont know how people are getting these figures on street fuel....are these right?

If so i want to know what their secrets are...id love to have 444rwkw from my FJ20 on street fuel :P

Or here's another idea, Buy a OS GIKEN RB30 kit, A HKS T51SPL turbo, get is all fitted into the car, punch 30 psi of boost, and if ur not satisfied buy a Ntrous express Direct port nitrous setup and shot another 300HP worth of gas into the engine, still not satisfied but urself a saturn V rocked and shoot urself to the moon :P

didnt Twoogle get near 500awkw on race fuel ? so thats around 670hp

that was with HKS 2530's

dont see why it wouldnt be possible on the 2835r's

True that!

Standard displacement and big boost! I went for a short ride in that car and that shit was RESPONSIVE too! Do things properly and you'll get there.

It was built once and built right with a perfect match of bits and pieces. It was the cover car a few HPI issues ago (but was "only" making 500kw then) and is in the current HPI sporting a JUN subframe :)

Its not a dyno queen either, the car in mention can be often seen driving around and was the owners daily driver to work and back for quite a long period of time.

Hello,

Varun I am curious in what you have in mind for this vehicle?

If you are trying to get high dyno results ,if you are racing or if you want a great sports car.

Why is everything about AWKW's or RWKW's or at the fly?

Why are 1/4 Miles so important here, if the car rolls doing 80Kms an hour around a corner?

The best i have heard is someone doing 500AWKW's at 9500RPM at 30psi boost. This would be great on the street...lol.

So what are you building this thing for?

Just by saying you want the horses does not mean you can deliver them to the ground.

A all round package is the desired result.

Most Japanese tuners go to great lengths to work out all the mods. then all the supporting mods.

Then they go about trying to reach there goals .The vehicles i have seen on video from Japan and the highly tuned ones are not drivable everyday,so I am assuming this is not going to be driven everyday. And when they do drive them they are in a de-tuned state.

Sure slap on the biggest twins or largest single but you are going to feel like you are on a push bike until you hit 5000RPM.

well, this car is a street car, driven 3-4 times a week at the same tune. i want it to run faster than a 10.50 @ 140+mph. it will be a be a push bike until boost but i dont care, i want to tune it to about 550-580awkw and that will be how i drive it on the street, call me stupid call me an idiot but hey someone has to try it. look good go fast and drive it on the street, i know im travelling a journey where im going to have to stop and pick up the broken pieces but hey its all good by the end of it the car will be awesome. i also know all about the supporting mods to get the power down to the ground. im basing this cars potential on the jun r33, haha im not a jun workshop but that thing has 2 t67 25g's, it runs fast times on the 1/4 mile and it goes well around a circuit.

i have a VERY VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION 4 anyone and everyone please could u guys help me. iv just built my engine everything new but with the existing crank. my crank shaft is a standard rb26 crank thats been linished and i have new bearings and an n1 oil pump hks rods and teflon coated JE pistons. the head has hks step 3 camshafts with aftermarket springs and retainers, standard valves. how far can i turn the engine before i start stressing the crank, we'v turned standard cranks to 9,000 so will my standard crank handle 10,000 rpm.
