I need to kno a couple of answers. Wht is a normal reading on the oil pressure guage of a stock 95 r33 gts-t for normal driving and thrashing it? 2) The heat ranges 5 6 7 what are the different temps of each plug and wht is best for a stock 95 r33 gts-t i just got the car so i thought a full service was the best to do and i changed my plugs in them from denso irridiums IK16 to ngk platinum super class gapped at 1.1mm and the heat range 5 as specified by nissan, and the car runs great will there be any side effects from this plug. If i gap them closer say at .8 mm will i get - or + side effects. Whats does running a hotter plug do to an engine please explain thouroughly? 3) What is the normal psi for the standard turbo on this car and wht does tht equal on the stock boost guage not numbers as i am not familar with the mecury mm reading just where the needle suppose to be at will do? Answer those questions for me.

Hi Matt, welcome to SAU.

Firstly, learn some manners mate. Noone here works for you and without a please here and there you aren't going to have anyone help you.

Secondly, in the toolbar just under the SkylinesAustralia banner, there is a search button. If you don't use it first, guys will flame your threads for asking questions that have already been answered in the past. Please give it a try and then come back with any questions you haven't found answers for.

:)

My Bad didnt mean to step on anyones shoes. sorry if i ruffled some feathers was noting meant by it. So in reference to b4 Pretty Please?

ok, well stock boost is 5psi below 4500rpm, and 7psi above 4500rpm. there is a solenoid that opens at 4500rpm that bleeds off some air to get the extra boost. there is a thread in the DIY section that tells you how to hook it up so that it is 7psi all the time. this is about halfway (+3.5) on the stock boost gauge.

secondly, with NGK plugs, the lower the number, the hotter the plug. hotter plugs are bad once you start upping the boost, as there is more heat in the motor. this is bad because it causes the fuel to ignite before it has sparked. this is called detonation, or pinging. by going to a colder plug you take some heat out, but it still ignites when it sparks (not before). a good plug to run is the ngk BCPR6ES. they are gapped to 0.8mm standard, and a lot cheaper than iridiums.

reducing the gap reduces that chance of the spark being blown out.

sorry to but in. hey goober, i had a manual boost controller running about 8 psi constant on my R33 GTST S2 96. The car pulled heaps better of the mark untill about 5000-6000 rpm and then it started to miss and backfire real bad. Can you give me any pointers on what to do next? thanks mate.
