hey guys.. i need to remove the front right hub, as my studs sheered off while i was driving, and i need to replace the studs... ive removed the caliper, and the rotor... now all is left is the hub, but how do i get that off?

theres a massive ~30mm nut in the centre of the nut.. but even if i got a socket onto that, the hub free spins so it wouldnt be able ot be undone... any ideas guys?

thanks

you don't need to remove the hub to get studs out. if you look round the back of the hub, there is a gap for the studs to come in and out (just near the calliper), then you spin the stud round the gap, and knock it out. I had to do it on my car.

There is a guide to remove the hub in the service manual. I've had to remove one of mine to get calipar brackets made. I think it's a prick of a job to do.

Mate remove the large nut which should be threaded on to the stub axle and the hub should come off, if the bearings are not to tight on the stub axle. If you have removed the caliper it should be easy enough

that wont do anything. as the hub will still be intact. just no driveshaft there.

belt the damaged stud with a hammer to knock it out. it will fall to the ground. put the new one in and with a sutable spacer wind the wheel nut on the new stud. it will pull it in.

happy days
