Knock Levels On Safc Ii On An R33

Hi SK. The SAFC II was tapped at the ECU side. I pulled the plug on the sensor side on the engine.

WogsRus, the knock will show up in the monitor screen after a peak recall. It works well using my method of determining if it pings. I coud wind in 2 degrees of ignition and it'll ping (ie readings more than 60 over the idle baseline in monitor). Reset the monitor and pull out the 2 degrees, no more ping.

well the highest i have got in the monitor, is 15, that was with the base set to 35 at 1500rpm, all though when showing 15 on monitor, actually 90 on setup.

BUT i don't think mine is right, if it knocked as much as it shows on the setup, engine would be well dead.

PLUS my timming is stock ect.

I wouldn't worry about what it says on setup. It is not an indication of if your motor pings. Only on monitor.

FWIW I had readings at about 120 on setup. It means nothing, its only 'noise'.

cool, oh well then, no biggie, thanks for clearing that up for me.

Like i said, have not seen values higher then 15 on monitor as yet, mind you only driven a bit.

PLUS tassie sure is cold.

just thaught ide add my safc2 shows a knock of 10 at idle and the minute i put my foot down knock goes to zero (this is all on monitor as i ignore the other readings as they are not calibrated).

yeah mine does thesame, at idle after a long drive the knock will sit at about 10 and at 3000rpm about 3.
