I after a HICAS lock bar for a R32 GTR, i would love to get one that is already in Perth but anywhere else is fine.

So if someone knows of someone and someplace that has one can you please pm me!!

hyperdrive have/had an R32 hicas lock bar instock about 2 weeks ago...

try them if you need one urgently, otherwise GTRGeoff will send one via overnight bag, and is cheaper.

nengun has a tomei one. works well and plugs into old plug so the hicas light doesnt come on on ur dash

So have any of you had any bad experiences with these lock bars?

ie, breaking under load, bad worksmanship on the unit (crap welding etc)

Well I've had one of geoffs bars on my line for about 8 months. The quality of the workmanship was top notch. Considering this 8 months includes a couple of outings to wanneroo raceway and the fact that these bars are fitted to some very quick victorian gtrs and gtsts, I'd say they hold up very well.

I made my own hicas lock up "kit". Re-use the rack with some machined up washers, slight mod to the motor, plug it back in and go driving. Works quite well surprisingly and the hicas light goes off as the car still thinks it has hicas working. More than 1 way to skin a cat eh?

there are also kits that 'lock' the computer part of it.

the bar is just good for a bit of weight reduction too

man i just tried to fit mine and i got give the wrong one from jshop soooo pissed i believe i got the r32 one as the rods dont fit into the bar and the hicas motor it self my uncle screwed the end tread on it so i gotta get that fixed so i can drive my car

need to go hunting morrow for a new bar hoping hyperdrive, xspeed or wilkos have something anotherwise im stuck with stupid hicas again grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

dont think you will find one in perth..

friend of mine tried to get one a few weeks ago, no one had anything, bar a R32 one at hyperdrive.

Yeah bad news not even hyperdrive has one, but if you wait about 2 weeks Xspeed is making their own and it should be ready by then!

Jshop doesnt have any either.

But i couldnt wait anymore!! as the HICAS was really getting to me!

As an aside, are they fairly straight forward to fit, or leave it to the pro's?

Yeah ordered one from GTRgeoff, arrived on friday and installed it on saturday.

So much crap to remove, at least its easier to get to the oil filter!!

All i am waiting for is a wheel alignment!!
