Well I posted in this thread before but the site seems to be acting funky...

I just did mine, most of which I performed myself. I changed all oils including gearbox, engine and diff. Also changed the spark plugs and replaced both oil and fuel filters. As for the rest like timing belts and water pumps I left the mechanics to do. It ended up costing me I think about $400 so I saved a bit of money doing it myself and learnt a bit in the long run.

Well, there's no better place to start then is there? Read the tutorials on SAU, ask questions and then go for it! Trust me it's not that hard and it is a very rewarding experience knowing that you have done it yourself. Hell, I'll even help you out if you are located in Adelaide

Buy the idler and tensioner bearings from Bearing Industries (search for NSK bearings will find their details) to get cheap bearings.

Then goto repco or something and get a non-genuine VL waterpump.

Should cost less than whatever the mechanic will want to put on there and work just as well.

This has been covered before in other posts but if anyone missed it, CBC (consolidated Bearing company) do a timing belt kit for R33's. Has the Gates Racing belt and tensioner/idler assemblies - ready to bolt on and they run NSK bearings. Costs about 315.00

When you do this id be doing waterpump/thermostat as well.
