R32 Gtr Diff Cover Finned Or Not Finned

I bought an r32 gtr diff , shafts and hubs of a friend who originally pulled em out of a r32 gtr wreck

my car is early 89 gtr and has a finned cover, this one doesnt have finns has anyone seen a 32gtr rear diff with no fins?? oh yeah its a white one so im thinking a later model 32

no it isnt.

pre 93 r32gtr's have a finned cover.93 on have the plain cover. same as 33 gtr non v-spec.

and 32's have hydrolic hicas.

so are the 31 splines on the pinion or the side gears?, the diff has the input flange and output shafts still in it will I need to change any thing to fit the late model diff.

yeah as long as you have the side flanges with the new diff it will bolt up.

i was refering to the drive shft flanges

this is all good news Ive scored a late model diff and i can put the best bits on it [finned cover]

and sell the leftover drive shafts and stuff, my lsd centre will be okay for some one too if they have a quiet set of gears.

i did a fair bit of searching on diffs in the drivetrain thread but didnt come up with the answer but i did find heaps of misquoted info that i had to sift through, but hey in any forum you have to dig to find gold

my diff cover doesnt look like that, the diff with the finns should all look the same or do they vary between pre 93 models?ill have to take a pic n post. maybe becos my hicas been removed it looks diff

ps.. your driveshaft flanges that you are gonna chuck are gold.

ps. any aftermarket mechanicl lsd needs these flanges for them. pitty there 6 bolt lol.

are you saying all aftermarket centres use 30 spline side flanges?

are they hard to get because they break a lot or is it because ppl do gtr upgrades?
