How To Unplug Cigarette Lighter?

Well, I can't for the life of me remove the cigarette lighter plug. It looks like a standard spade connection, with a clip on the plug to release. I can get the clip clear out of the way, but the thing just won't budge at all.

R33 series 2.

Anyone done this and can shed some light?

Keep trying...maybe you're not squeezing the clip hard enough

Try pushing it in more before trying to disconnect - maybe it's stuck on there

Press down on the clip thing and pull? Might be a secondary latch small type somewhere?

But for me its just press down and unclip.

if at first you dont succeed... get a flat head to lever it off.

Haha! Thanks guys.... I got the screwdriver out, before I asked this question.

The metal spade that is part of the ciggy barrel moves with the spade and wire that powers it. It moves around like it's all one piece inside, which was really throwing me off.

I'll try again today and push *really* hard on the clip.

i hit mine with a hammer, ripped it off...

easy fix.. then jsut re-solder the wires if need be

Well if all else fails.... I won't be trying that! =-p

I've sanded and sprayed my ashtray, and it came out quite nicely... so as soon as i'm not working again, out will come that damn shifter-surround!
