Some may be aware, recently I just purchased a new camera (Sony DSC H5).

I'm no professional photographer but am learning quite quickly on how to use the camera.

Blow are just a few pics I took from my weekend outting with this camera.

I thought it may be a good idea to possibly get a heap of skylines together and actually get a photo shoot underway. The last organised cruise by Mud, Col & a few others took his cameras along and that was the last best group shoots taken of all the skylines.

We have a choice to have the photo's taken of a day time or night time.

If we are to have it of a night time, the lighting in and around the cars would need to be slightly lite up a bit (not overly done of course) with the back drop being well lite up such as the buildings of the CBD area.

This giving me the idea of having the photo's taken along the top of Kangaroo Point cliffs.

If the choice is of a day time, we would need a excellent back drop of something artistic such as hills, a dark storm coming towards us or even cliffs or the city, etc. Possibly even the graffity train carriages out at eagle farm in the old train yards (recently a photo shoot was taken of my car out there, hence I know of this location and have seen some of the photos and they've turned out excellent).

Would anyone be interested in getting this done? Of course, this thread is open to discussion on where we can do the photo shoot, when we should do it and after a bit of a discussion on this subject, we'll have a place and time organised.

I'm open to discussion and feedback.

Nice shots :( I was told once by a pro photographer the best time for night photography is just as it gets dark the sky goes a really dark blue for 10 minutes just before going black, if you look out for it you will notice what happens, I had never noticed it before he told me - although I have still never tried taking photos in those conditions, anyhow, this is only what I have been told - e.g use the info at your own discresion >_<

Clear Mountain is also good for day shots up top...

You can see all the way to the bay... I am wanting to get up there again soon with the camera to get some photos...

Victoria point is good for photos and i have shot there a few times. But its impossible to get the car and the city in the same shot...

Look at my avatar thats a shot from victoria point (minus the photoshop)

Nice work btw John, cameras are so much fun!!!

Just been up to Mt Cootha about an hour ago and took a few pics of the city (from where I was standing and zoomed in). If only I didnt leave my cable for the camera to the pc at work, I would upload them now.

but damm!!!! these photo's just lookin at them on the LCD screen on the camera look awesome. The photo's have actually turned out way better then I would expect.

Col...

Yeah, camera's are fun!!! Glad I've gone the distance with buyin a high qauility camera now and also the additional lenses and filters, etc. Just waitin on my Telephoto lens to arrive which shouldnt be to far away!

I'll post the pics up in the mornin when I get to work and connect the camera up to the work laptop, then upload the pics onto here to show :)

We have 4 cars in.

Both myself and Col will be doin the photography for this.

Anyone else in? Going to set a date and time for this within the next day or so.

Its open to everyone as suggested by col so we can grab a long line of skylines with their rear taillights lite up again like shown in mud's signature pic!

What i meant to say was for many to come with their cameras if they would all like a photographic night...

Im not always about cars, i have done a few shoots in a studio with models and motorbikes...

But im up for all topics and will shoot anything...
