Just finished my auto to manual conversion and took it for the first drive. Now the engine is running like crap. It hesitates between 2000 and 4000 rpm and wont rev past 5500rpm easily. It revs fine in neutral but as soon as there's load on the engine it carries on like this.

It worked briefly for one quick squirt but that was it.

Now could this somehow be caused by me still using the automatic ecu (which is chipped)?

Another thought that has crossed my mind is bodgy fuel because the car hasn't been started in about a month?

What should i look for? I really want to enjoy my new manual!! :O

Looking around and i just noticed this...

Adjust your base timing to 15 BTDC on the CAS

Either fit the neutral switch wiring or ground pin 44 with a stock ecu. It needs that signal.

Now i don't think the difference in base timing could be causing this.... but could it be the fact that i haven't fitted the neutral switch wiring or grounded pin 44 on the ecu? What exactly does this do?

factory automatic r32 ecu's set base timming at 20deg btdc manual comps set it at 15, i used to use a auto chipped ecu on a manual, motor lasted bout 1month at 1bar way 2 advanced
