Freight Charges For Various Items, Especially Heavier Stuff.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, i'm wondering which courier services do u all use to get stuff from other parts of australia delivered to brissy or vice versa? I need some recommendations for cheap courier services, doesnt need to be sent to the door, i can pick up from depots within 25kms of brissy. Especially for heavier items like rims, what would be cheap to use? Any recommendations and suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanx!

A lot of people have used Pack and Send. I haven't used them, but I did have to get a quote once and their service seemed reasonably priced. :P

TNT (and others) do not appears to offer services to individuals, only to businesses.

I had to send a carbon bonnet to Vic last week and rang round for quotes:

TNT- wouldn't do

Toll Priority- $500

Pack Send- $330

Hunter Express- $160

Greyhound Freight- $81

You can guess who i sent it with :P

i got quoted to send a bike through toll ipec and qrail about $200. from just north of brissy to sydney.

where possible i use australia post as they are darn cheap if its within their limits. to send a bike frame from qld to vic was about $30.

for stuff over that i get my mate to send it through fastway as he has an account. but i haven't had to send anything really big or heavy.

but yeah, small couriers are good. i got a front bar sent up from brissy (about 180km away), delivered same day and cost me $10. and the box it came in was huge.

Just remember a few small things. Fragile stickers mean they can break it.

Cheapest isnt always the best, neither is most expencive. Depends on who its with. Some its weight, others its space.

    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much

    • 😜 hopefully we get this instead of a new R36 GTR due to recent financial problems at Nissan. Nismo to sell a complete kit with RB26 and driveline. All starts making sense (ok maybe not) once the Nissan Leaf's (Leaves?) with stuffed EV motors/batteries hit the market cheap
