without look at the car is very hard to say. probably between 20-25k?? Any chance of pics?

Are all the modifications the balls transplant (i mean the engine( been done properly? Was the engine rebuilt properly? You get the idea so its very hard to say. But i wouldnt pay more than 25ks on the road. To be honest cos those factors what they did to it you dont know what they did and up to what type of workmanship.

The car got any accidents history? Let us know. But its goin to be interesting to see it though

its my stagea im talking about u seen pics ive posted heaps in the past, but with a stock rebuilt engine.

im not selling (yet) im just wondering what it would be worth as i will be eventually putting my engine setup into a light car with full rollcage etc. so ill chuck another 26 in it but rebuild it prior to installing it as u all know how unreliable old rb26s are :P

if you did the JOB ETC its a different story. yea it will put it up between 25-30k mark then :( . The reason why i put it so low is somebody did a dogy job and trying to sell it. But in your case we can say we trust on the job you do to it.

Hmm another fast volvo!!! :P hehe!!!

You should be able to fetch that price. BTW are you still goign to be in the forum if you sell your stagea off?

its only an option at the moment, i just bought another car to daily drive so keeping 3 cars is just not feasible. i didnt think about it when i bought this new car but i coulda kept the stagea with relatively stock 26 for daily use but its too late now :(

ill be keeping stagea for a good 6 months or more for sure and access my options once i take it down the strip. the lighter the car the less power i need to run better times, and a 26 pumping almost 700hp (stagea) compared to 500hp (in a light chassis) is a big difference.

too many options and not enough money :O

consider selling me the whole conversion package and ill send you all my auto stuff (engine, box, rear end, etc)?

i am currently looking at rebuilding/converting mine to RB26/manual instead of a 260rs just because ive spent so much on it no coz of the repairs etc.

EDIT: wait, lol, we could just trade cars to make it easier.

So which mistress did you get this time?! (meaning the new car? HAHA!!

then what do i do? haha its gonna be a hell of alot easier to sell being manual and rb26 than a stock 25/auto setup, and its all installed except i'd change engine for a stock built one.

trust me alex converting it all is simply not worth it. your better to find a 260rs with good body, etc and stuffed engine for cheap and rebuild it.

how much is yours worth compared to a 260rs? whats the cash difference?

the new rides a secret :O its not a nissan thats all i can say

ok, lets go through it

originally

19,000 for the car

1,500 stamp duty/rego

accidents cost me

1,500 parts

1,000 fix damaged parts

300 new wheels

500+ fix a/c system

1000 fix doors/mirrors

2,500+ easy, respray car

100 new air deflector

interiors a bit rough, i actually carried stuff

mods that would go with the car

1,200 stereo (cant remove, cut a-pillars)

1,000 tow bar (cant remove, rear bar was cut and was $400 to fit!!!)

2,500 suspension kit (hard to remove most of it, like bushes etc and 2nd hand shocks sell for too cheap)

So thats a car that I would be selling for ~14,000 if lucky being accident damaged as well

Car value spent on by me, ~32k

So, that means I wont be selling the car regardless as its too much loss and id just buy a 260rs as a THIRD car. So id have an RS4 as a wagon daily, camry as a daily and a 260rs as a fun car.

Now, the 260rs would be stock and cost around 33k, so 33-14 = 19k. Ive budgeted around 22-25k for a FULL work over of the car, including brakes, engine, interior and suspenion work to equate to around 350awkw, all properly set up, all properly hugging my ass and all that.

What would you do? Think going 26 and manual isnt worth it in my case?

engine, gearbox, clutch master/slave cylinders, intercooler, clutch (full front cut) = $6000

clutch upgrade = $1000+

gtr diff/axles/brake calipers = $1200+

custom length axle on drivers side = $400+???

gts4 passenger side driveshaft = $150+

braided brake lines to suit (stock line dont fit) = $200

fuel pump bosch 044 = $250

dump pipes/cat/cat back exhuast = $1300+

2xpod filters = $150-$200

r33 handbrake setup = $250

power fc ecu/boost kit = $1200

z32 afm's = $400 or so

cooler piping = $600+

intercooler upgrade = $250-$1400 (china vs jap brands)

garrett 2860r turbos = $3200

550cc/700cc injectors = $800

sump upgrade with baffles and more capacity = $1000+

n1 oil pump (not sure if u need this) = $500

rebuild engine... machining = $600+

rings/bearings/timing belt/core plugs, etc = $1000+

forged pistons (good insurance for power) = $1300

brake rotors all round = $800

r33 brembo front calipers = $1000

suspension/swaybars/bushes = $2000

labour for engine build and engine/diff/gearbox/axle conversion = a damn lot :D

bits and pieces (clamps/hoses/fittings/etc) = $1000

recess clutch booster into firewall = ????

wire up gtr engine wiring harness to stagea wiring = ???

thats just the conversion side of things that i could think of in 5 mins so theres plenty i forgot.

so thats like $27150 without the labour and without ecu wiring and recessing the clutch booster.

ill add other things as i remember :)

First lets get one thing straight. We are not working from a resale point of view. I dont see any reason to want to sell my car now its RB25, nor whatever happends in future. So that is not an arguement.

engine, gearbox, clutch master/slave cylinders, intercooler, clutch (full front cut) = $6000

clutch upgrade = $1000+ NOT STOCK ON 260RS

gtr diff/axles/brake calipers = $1200+

custom length axle on drivers side = $400+???

recess clutch booster into firewall = ???? R34 GTT CLUTCH MASTER

wire up gtr engine wiring harness to stagea wiring = ??? 260RS HARNESS

thats just the conversion side of things that i could think of in 5 mins so theres plenty i forgot.

so thats like $27150 without the labour and without ecu wiring and recessing the clutch booster.

ill add other things as i remember :)

All the things marked NOT STOCK ON 260RS are the ones that wouldnt come stock on a 260RS anyway, so id spend that money on a 260rs, OR a converted RS4.

Ok, So lets do some maths.

Thats about 16,000$ worth of mods BEYOND a stock 260RS

From my previous post, my RS4's cost me ~32k. I sell it for ~14k I've LOST 18k. Then I buy a 260RS for ~32k (so I need to find another 18k somewhere) and then spend another 16k on it to make it as above. So that means for me to get a 260rs modded like above, I need 18+16k = 34k.....

Alternative. Take RS4 now, it already has alarm, stereo, 80% suspension work, towbar etc. Take that budgeted 27k by you and I still end up ~7k on top. (even though you budgeted for suspension too, which is already done)

Honestly, I know in 99% of cases it would be more wise to just sell up and upgrade, I really do. I was going to, until this accidents ended up costing me well, that 7k difference, which has screwed with the whole system. I only think that in this situation, its probably more wise to convert rather than sell.

I would have to agree alex.

You never win on cars (very rare ones yes but in our cases no) you are definately better off keeping the car you have and spending the cash on it to get it to where you want.
