Help Needed! R32 Bonnet Won't Open!

Hey all,

Drove home from the compliance centre today and eager to look under the bonnet, I tried to pull the leaver to pop the hood but no dice! Its stuck pretty tightly in position, with a tiny bit of play - but only what would be normal for any interior fitting. So it wont pull back to pop the hood and I can't see why, I have no idea whats wrong. Please help! I got the car today and am desperate to see what surprises await under the hood!

have you tried something to help lever the latch?

chuc some WD-40 over the latch and try again maybe?

i have the same problem on my car - pull the latch outwards as hoizontally as possible. keeping it flat will prevent any friction loss and allow full force to pull the cable. put all your weight into it.

Sounds like your cable has streched/slipped. Locate the cable under the dash and get a pair of pliers and try pulling the cable manualy,

if that doesnt work use a hooked rod and place it under the lip od the bonnet and try to hook the cable from outside and pull

mates 32 has that issue too.. 2 hands and ALOT of effort

could be the rubber stoppers are worn and arent doing their job. mine were goneeeeskies and before i fixed it i used to have to get someone to lift up from the front of the car lightly while i pulled the lever.

i had that problem with a different car of mine. While you are pulling the lever get someone to push the bonnet down, then it may just open.
