Do you guys want to just meet there and drive in as a group or do you want to do the cruise in the morning as well?

I was under the impression that the cruise was for formal clubs only that have registered to attend on the day but whatever.

Last year we met at 8:30 near the bowling alley in Belco and drove in as a group. The beauty with this show is that you can drive in and out whenever your like. However the problem with getting there late is that it's hard to find a nice place to leave your cars. We were basically dead in the middle of the whole show last year which was pretty cool, but there was no shade. Anyway, I'm happy to turn up whenever...

Who wants to get there with the cruise and who wants to get in there early and who just wants to roll up when they please?

From reading the council of ACT motor clubs website it says that people that drive in as part of the big cruise from Commonwealth Park are entitled to preferential parking at the actual show. When you turn up to the meeting spot they give you a small window sticker that gives you preferential entrance and parking for the show.

The meeting spot for this cruise is the futsal stadium on Barrine Drive next to Commonwealth Bridge. For those that don't know where that it, that's the spot next to Commonwealth Avenue where the circus always sets up every year, opposite Regatta Point.

So if we want a good spot then I spose we should head in as part of the main cruise, which is from 8:30am to 9:15am. I guess what we could do is meet there at 8:45-9:00, get our stickers and then roll in as a group whilst looking mean :P

Bear in mind that if you want to attend you don't NEED to be there early - you can drive in and drive out any time. Get there at 10 if you want to.

I guess we should start a list of who's going, hopefully everyone that's posted previous is coming, we might have a top turnout like last year!

Same deal as the Christmas cruise - copy the list and add your name to the bottom :)

I'll post up some more pics of the other cars a bit later on when I can be stuffed clearing out more numberplates :P

I had a pretty good day all in all, it was a shame we didn't have the same turnout as last year.... though if we did I don't know where everyone would have parked! Apparently they had about 550 cars, about 50 up over last year. Some very nice cars there today.

Was a good day out. i loved the fact that we parked right in the middle of all the toyota boys and stole the spot light! HA HA!!! great to finally meet CeJay and SL33KY. some nice cars there. shame we didn't have a bigger turn out, as has already been said. was impressed with how many people were gawking over Bluprints car, nice work mate....

oh, and SL33KY, love the ride girl! im not usually a fan of big chromies, but yours was just the right amount of bling. and keep an eye on those shiney new head lights of yours... they just might go missing, and some how, end up nestled in the front end of my car!!! HA! :P jks

    • Only thing I'd add...is on recommendation from a good diff shop, I've used mineral oil in my diff including the race car for years. The synthetics can be too slippery and glaze the gears
    • 75W90 GL5 is fine. If you aren't sure about the type get one with LSD additive.
    • Because you're effectively rushing the shift and forcing it to go in - with greater leverage against parts that don't _want_ to go together. Short shift = forcing the gear in harder. Also Redline Heavy Shockproof actively says not to use it in anything with Synchros. Well, it says "not recommended" which is basically as far as anyone will ever say in a product statement to "Do not use" Generally the Redline makes the gearbox feel great... until it fails faster. https://www.redlineoil.com/heavy-shockproof
    • 99.9% of them are viscous diffs. The 0.01% are helicals. They were only option-able in the series 2, as well. I have redline heavy shockproof in my helical. It seems... fine? I don't think anyone is ever going to know until something really breaks and at that point I'm not sure anyone will blame the oil. I just chose it because it's extremely heavy duty and my car will see not-road-legal duty for it. I've also had sadness with various diff oils in the past sweating out everywhere and/or other 'fun' things, with clutch diffs. Given you have a 1.5 way on the shelf, I'd not even bother with the diff in the car and just get to tinkering with it. I would spend the $90 on oil toward the labor of someone else putting the diff in if time poor even lol.
    • I believe mine is helical and not clutch type. During drifting one wheel was spining as if it was open diff so bought kazz 1.5 way and has sat on my shelf for the past 5 years as I want to learn shiming process and do it myself   in meantime thought I change the diff oil hence post here. So any 75-90?   i am pretty sure r34 are helical not clutch lsd as standard . That is gtt ones
