Today I bought a pair of secondhand 225/50/R16 Micky Thompson street drag radials on AVS rims for $152.50. (only seen 5 passes)

I was wondering how I should store them between use? I dont go to the drag strip very often, maybe 3 times a year for a bit of fun.

STORAGE

1: I've heard that its ok to leave them on the rims, but shouldnt be inflated?

2: is there anyway to prolong their shelf life (wraping in plastic?)? do the "go bad" so to speak, over time?

USE

1: when I re-inflate them for the strip, do I run low pressure (round 18-20psi) like I was in street tyres?

2: will these need decent burnout to get them up to temp? or a minimal one be fine?

any other info welcomed

I plastic bag mine and store them under the house, even temperature and zero sunlight. I keep them inflated, usually around 16 psi, which is the starting pressure, generally I end up lowering it as the racing goes on. Have been down to 12 psi. Usually a biggish burn out to start the day, then not so big ones after that. Depends a bit on the ambient temperature.

:O cheers :)
