Well today was only the second time i filled up my car, i have only had it for 3 weeks.

So it was nice a full, went into a right hand bend. The i parked my car and could smell fuel, shit, pop the bonet nothing, then looked down the side of the car, and fuel had pissed out form the filler neck.

Opened the hatch, and not sure if it came form the breather hose or the main filler pipe. The car has the unleaded neck fitted, looked allright, but now not to sure.

I have heard that these tend to leak if not put in proply, did a search but nothing came up.

Can somone point me in the right direction as to why this happens and how to fix it?

I noticed it had fuel in the inside of the tire well and the outside of the car.

HELP ME........

Its most likely your fuel filler neck.

Look here:

Or here:

1. Have a look at your petrol cap and give it a wriggle and see if it moves around. If it does then,

2. Unscrew the cap and grab the metal filler neck, probably brass colour, see if this moves around. If so (like mine) you definately proceed to step 3. Otrhewise, if you can see evidence of vapour or spillga aroung it you can also say it needs doing. (A visual inspection should tell you if it is the problem.

3. Remove the filler neck assembly. Mine took no effort at all as it was held by a couple of dabs of a compound that went hard and, therefore, brittle.

4. Once removed, clean the surfaces of the neck that mate with the wide mouth that is left in the side of the car and clean this area too.

5. Apply a continuous bead of Sikaflex around the area of contact.

6. Position the filler neck in its final position and push it home.

Good luck.

thanks mate. I'm going to do it today.

What grade of sicaflex do i need.

got mine from supercheap...it was called "metal steel something..." Make sure its heat and fuel resistant. Comes in a long tube...and its like play dough...u have to mash it up to mix the compounds to me it react and bond.

WELL NOOO BLODY GOOOODDD. The neck in EPOXIED into place, and NO way i can move it. I tried everything without making any marks on the neck, but still no good. So have to get a new neck i think and go from there.
