Modena
Got the auto tranny serviced yesterday with Transmax Z... I was told only 8 litres could be put in, even though the old one was drained. The car feels great, havent really had much of a chance to drive cos got it late last night. J_R32
hi just wandering if u did this yourself? just wandering if you could point out how exactly to change auto tranny fluid. do you just disconnect the tranny cooler hose near the radiator and let it flush out with the engine on? thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/133973-serviced-the-auto-tranny/#findComment-2490371 Share on other sites
Modena
hi just wandering if u did this yourself? just wandering if you could point out how exactly to change auto tranny fluid. do you just disconnect the tranny cooler hose near the radiator and let it flush out with the engine on? thanks No a family friend who is a long time mechanic did it for me. He specialises in BMWs. He did it at a workshop... Its not an easy job because you need to get around 4 litres of the old oil out of the torque converter. I would leave this job for a mechanic or auto transmission service specialists as it can get pretty messy, literraly and a number of things need to be done (drain oil in the pan and torque converter, change or clean the oil filter etc). BTW I got my odl oil filter cleaned as I was told on here no need to buy a new one (saves 70 bucks).
