I have just looked at a genuine GTS-R on the gold coast with a view to buying it. Owner wants $16,000 minimum, not negotiable. The car is very original. He tells me that all GTS-R's were dark blue and only came out as series 3, true or false? My problem is, even though only 800 of these were made it seems hard to justify that much money for a car that is not all that different to my NEO31. Remember that now you can get a reasonably good R32 GTR for about that much. This car is missing the original front spoiler (thrown out by mistake from a cleanup) The antenna motor is broken and I am not sure if the wheels are original or not. Other than that it is totally as it should be. Comments please

You only buy a GTS-R if you want a GTS-R. In terms of bang for your buck a GT-R will absolutely kill it.

The money being asked is in the right ball park. Depends on condition & kms also.

The dark blue colour is correct.

You will probably be able to find a GTS-R front spoiler at one of the wrecking yards. I briefly looked into it ages ago for an R31 & turned one up in SA. Rims may be harder.

BTW, is this the car?

If its that car in the attachment, its been for sale a LOOOOONG time.

I assume it is the one on carsales:

http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/...p;category_id=3

that has been listed for donkey's years. I guess it proves you have to be an enthusiast to pay nearly GTR dollars for a R31. Then again I am a mad bugger who bought a DR30. :O

Its an enthusiast’s car......

going by the picture (gold wheel centres) i remember it for sale in a car yard about 4 years ago with a sticker price of $19,000, if its the same as the one rob was talking about and it has 8?,000 on the clock then its a good price at $16,000. the last one i saw for sale at the japenese auctions had a starting price of $15,000aus, if you do go ahead i have a spare autospoiler with a mate in sydney that should be on its way to me soon.

It has been for sale for about 3 years, goes down about $1000 a year. I want to wait until 2020 and buy it for $1000, it will probably still be for sale.

GTS-R's don't have an autospoiler, the intercooler and split aircon preclude it and the fixed spoiler they run is better for aero.

However, I have a HR31 GTS which was robbed of its autospoiler at time of importation 10 years ago, if you are hoping to sell yours please PM me.

Holy crap that buys you a hell of a lot of SR20 powered s13/a31 or rb25 powered R3x ..

You'd really have to love this thing.. even the DR30 thing andylaurel was selling went for $8800 and that looked hotter than a gsxr.

But if YOU think it's worth it and want it that badly buy it, but I don't think there's a market that will necessarily agree with you (not because they disagree but because they're non-existant)... So your resale will be pretty limited.

I hate taking this position, but honestly, someone's botched conversion is hardly the same as a 1-of-800 Group A homologation special!

Unless you want it as a collectors item dont get it, you can get a GTS-X in good condition with look alike GTS-R parts for under $10k now. No one aside from a true 31 enthusiast would even know they exist let alone the difference.

Also they are a laggy pig to drive, full boost wont be seen until after 5000rpm
