Alarm Installers In Melbourne

G'Day guys,

I need to get an alarm installed into my 32 GTR. Can you please recommend people/companies that you have had positive dealings with? Also, what options/alarms do you recommend?

I was thinking along these lines (let me know what you think i should add etc):

3-point (min) immobiliser

Battery backup

entry point detection

valet switch (for mechanics etc)

possibly a keypad (anti carjacking)

I see that a lot of people on here recommend certain users to speak to and get numbers/advice etc, but thought it was polite to ask first . . . :(

I am in the North East of Melbourne and would like someone who can give me a letter/receipt stating what alarm options are fitted (for insurance).

Lastly guys, what price is fair for the parts i have mentioned, or the parts that i forgot?

Cheers,

Dan

R32 GTR PWR,

PM me with your suburb and i will send you in the right direction, There are only 1 or 2 people that are actually good installers in the northern suburbs of melbourne.

Most of them are butchers.

Also, the most important thing to consider when getting a security device is that your insurance company will cover it. Check with your company first EXACTLY what they require. They are all slightly different.

Chris, I have seen you mentioned plenty on here! :D

If you can help me at all - or point me to someone good - it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Ditto for me.

If I could be pointed to someone in melbournes eastern to north eastern suburbs, it'd be much appreciated, and if they stock a particularly good alarm and fit that to an R32, even better.

Looking for at least 3 point immob, black wire, good hidden installation, preferably linked to the TT, and if possible either a breaking glass mic, or an air pressure sensor.

PM me please if you know of someone who can install something like this in an R32.

hehehe im also in melbourne (eastern subs) and am going to get an alarm this week.

i was looking in the trading post and seen some adds

"insurance approved mobile installation central locking boot release black wiring 2 point imob. bla bla bla $199" they cant be that bad could they?

they all seem to be around that much apart from the ones that are like $300-500 they got a 3km range on the pagers and some other features like remote start which would be a car jackers dream to find

If you are looking for an Insurance Alarm, it must be an Australian Standard item,or

else your insurance company might not insure you.

Ask the installer to write it down on your receipt, because you will need to send a copy to your Insurance Company. >_<

Cheers..

    • 50L plastic butcher's bins with or w/o lids are good for storing various parts and smaller boxes of part on shelves. I've taken to writing a manifest on blank paper in texta and sticking it on the front of any such box, whether it is that sort of tub or just a cardboard box. Ditto to smaller boxes inside. I can not give you ideas on how to be more ruthless or better organised than that, because I suspect that my shed is worse than yours.
    • i have 2 MTX thunder amps they do have the line input aswell but i have no idea where the connectors are to use. so for ease of being able to run 2 sets of RCA leads im just using the convertor.
    • The existing factory sub feed should already have a sum of L+R and a low pass filter, so it probably isn't necessary to take another L and R feed from the HU.  If it didn't have a factory sub output, then that would be the best option though. Does your new amp not have speaker level inputs?  that would eliminate the need for the speaker - line level converter completely.
