Squishy
Does anyone know if the RB20DET head gasket will fit straight into a RB25DE? I am turboing a RB25DE and to lower the compression i am looking to get a 2mm HKS head gastket.. but what kind will suit? Cheers Tiff Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/134410-rb25de-question/ Share on other sites
SLIMVLT
no the bore size is diferent and your rb25de may have vvt. if it doesnt go and get a acl coper head gasket to suit a rb30 (1.6 mm) as they are the same bore size. if u have vvt then go get a rb25det gasket 1 of them metal shim 1ns. juddieR31
I wouldnt be too fussed with the head gasket unless your planning on running more than 8psi, then you will need to. YEA RIIIIGHT Calm down mate, you didnt state your intentions very well therefore I didnt know what sort of boost you were running. Im turboing mine next week, will be running 7psi on stock compression. So ill soon let you know how long it lasts, and from what I have heard and seen, it should last me a few years yet Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/134410-rb25de-question/#findComment-2507965 Share on other sites
Eug
rb_turbo_bitch, juddier31 and slimvlt are actually sorta right... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...c=33407&hl= have a read of that thread and come to your own conclusions. p.s - unless you already have a spare rb25de lying around, i cant see why you would go to so much trouble. each to their own, read DAN666's thread Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/134410-rb25de-question/#findComment-2508059 Share on other sites

NA_R33
we will c how long it runs for then.8 psi and about 10-1 compresion Hence why she is using a thicker head gasket to lower the compression. All u backyard mechanics tell me why my engine has lasted so long at almost 11:1 compression at 11pound of boost and the only time the car is driven it is cained... Now please... everybody take a step back if u dont have hard facts and havent done it yourself dont be so quick to critisise. 666DAN
Ugh I'm sick of your N/A + boost knowledge John, it's so common sense and practically based Come on people if you need to know anything about boosting N/A's ask John or myself, we're there to help in such a taboo subject. SLIMVLT
mate i have done this before and most ppl dont do it well and set there sxpectations to high. ive used decomp plates/copper head gaskets ect in rb30 engines for years with great sucsess but you always get reports of ppl who get it wrong. ive used a dead stock n/a rb30 with a 2mm copper gasket (no orings) cramed alot of boost in to it (ran 28 at hethcote) made 253 rwkw on 18 psi. it all comes down to the tune and what most ppl do is use the stock parts that dont like it real well (ecu) so if they scimp or dont get a pigy back then pumping abit of boost in will result in a meltdown and a nother statistic to the list. so yea i beleive i know what im tlking about.
