Redline & Royal Purple Engine Oil

Hi all,

Me newbie. Hope I m not intruding.

Me looking for the cheapest supplier of redline or royal purple engine oil. Experts here, kindly advice newbie here.

First of all Welcome to SAU...

Both these oils are one of the best on the market, however Red Line in my opinion and the opinion of other mech/tuners I have spoken to, is over priced and not nearly as good as RP...

I just bought a 5L jug of RP 10W40 for my oil change and have found them at the following outlets:

Peps Auto - $75

Autobarn - $89 (will price match)

Your onto the hi end synthetics there . I run the Redline System right through and it has been Excellent. Car runs slightly lower temps under same conditions.

At about 135 dollars from Bursons for 5 litres because of odd size imperial packaging you need to think about it though.

For a skyline you need 1 x 4litre pack and a 1 x 1 litre pack.

Hi Bro,

I know I could get Redline from burson for about $27.00/quart. Me find it rather expensive, so trying to find out from experience forumers if they knew of any other supplier that could supply at a lower price, or the lowest price. Tryin to get a bang for my bucks.

I went to autobarn here in Vic and they dont stock Royal purple!! bastads!

I use Royal Purple for all applications!!

Awesome.. I used redline gearbox oil before too.. thought it was great until i used royal purple..

I'm lucky my workshop supplies me with royal..

royal purple is the shiz, i put in 10-40 and the engine runs great and the oil is actually purple!!! amazing stuff. I got mine from peps. they do great deals there

redline is a better oil than royal purple it is composed of a more expensive base which partially explains its more expensive price. it is the best oil you can buy. search for the goods on oils thread for more info, but i would say that you can get a similar performance oil to royal purple for less money.

HOw about Kendall Racing oil? It is made from pure Pensylvanian Crude and is one of the best oils around. There is actually a warning on the packaging stating that it must not be used to run an engine in as the engine wont run in due to the oil having such good lubricating properties.

Kendall is made by Conoco, pretty cheap and good. Mostly group III oil though.

Ok guys... this morning i put some Royal Purple 10W40 with a new cooper oil filter and this is what i have noticed after 100km/s of driving:

- Car idles MUCH smoother and quieter than when using Castrol R and Nuon (comparing to when oil was first changed with both brands)

- Car warms up much quicker on cold starts than before

- Car starts quicker and easier

- Exhaust note on idle is more deep and is not lumpy/poppy anymore

- Acceleration feels 100 times smoother and responsive than Casrtol R and Nulon

In conclusion, I recommend RP for any RB motor.. over any other oil i have ever used!
