Manifold Glowing Red Hot

as the title says.popped the bonnet after a good fang round the mountain and the exhaust manifold,turbo exhaust housing and about 10 cm of the dump pipe were glowing red.is it athing to worry about?

not really... they will heat up/glow red if you've been giving them a really good workout....

what i would be concerned about though is if you have the standard ceramic turbo, as high heat kills the ceramic rear wheel on them....

best idea is to just drive the car around for a while after you've been giving it a workout like that, this will give it all a chance to cool down... definitely don't turn the car off while it's still hot like that either otherwise you risk damage to the turbo etc.

totally normal.

after a fang, always give it a good few mins of cruising to cool down. makes a massive difference and you wont see red glows again

i was just worried about it cooking the oil cause it was so hot

Also make sure there is nothing around the glowing area that can cook. IE hoses, wires. Might be worth while looking at some heat control like wrapping or some coating. But yeah nothing much to worry about event stock XR6 Turbos glow after a good thrashing. Yeah it does look great at night and on photos.
