lol im cheap cos im unemplyed lol. and my dad doesnt believe in mods

at the time when i bought my cooler kit there were no china kits around and still the hybrid kits were like 800 or so.... so i was like mmm ill pay extra and get quality

plus at that price with the hybrids some touched bonnets and fans

but yer over the last 1.3-4 years coolers have been hell popluar and hell cheap but yer...

also mikey made me by my kit as when i looked as his his cooler pipe was touching the bonnet and was close to the fan

also the cooler wasnt straight

mine also sat flush with my front bar which was a bonus

the only prob I found with the china kits is that they may not always go infornt of the radiator and the fan (may rub on fan) I prefer full custom IMO .... but thats cause I do my own anyway. Best price is always gonna be the china ... remeber you get what you pay for.

  • 2 weeks later...

time for a bump

I wanna know who can make me a pipe to go either under or behind the cooler then up the factory side.

I have a kit with full piping and clamps etc.. and the only thing bothering me is i do not want to lose the R34 engine cover..

so who are you recommending?

private people who do exhaust and pipework is fine.. just dont want to pay excessively for it.

don't care if the bend costs me 2.5hp in flow at the end of the day

$600 or so from CRC for a Greddy M-spec cooler its worth the extra $$$.... as i have found with most custom/chinacopy piping kit will fit or touch the bonnet and come close to if not hit the fan...

i have yet to see this problem with the greddy piping

ps there is nothing wrong the china cooler itself as im running one with over 300hp its the piping and endtanks i dont like

yep. I totally agreed

got my car back on Friday last week.

Ali piping,; the pipe touch the bonnet & I got about 5mm clearest form the fan, but then I wrap the top pipe so now it just touch the fan. So there is a bit of burr fur.

Doesn’t look so good, but I believe it help keeping the heat away form the pipe.

i just receieved a chine kit i ordered, the welding on the end tanks leaves a lot to be desired, the pipes are about as shiny as my left nut and they have small pin dents all over them, but i got it delivered for less than $400 and im not gunna go past 250rwkw so im happy at that price :/

can be done, I will have a complete piping kit with silicone hose and clamps for sale for $100 in about 3wks if your interested. No doubt you will find a china cooler for less than $200, making it under $300 all up. Let me know if your keen on my piping. Its to suit a RB25 R33 GTSt

oh no i already have everything i need to do piping.. crossover style..

i did the piping when i turboed the satria.. that worked out fine..

but .. i want to go down the factory side instead of crossover the radiator...was thinking might be neater to get a bend fabricated.. but it not.. i don't care.. i do know what i am doing... so will just do it the best way i can... or i will cop out and do the piping the most popular way..

oh and 8OOSTED...i think i have a mate who will be keen on the kit.. fo shizzle

I spoke with a few of the guys from Top Racing and they said that the china coolers are alot better than most people think they are...

Dont fool yourself by buying an intercooler thats $1500 becuase it has apexi writtin on the front.

I'm getting a china cooler next year and I doubt I will have a single problem.

    • Yeah based on old XRC5964S specs, it looks to be roughly GTX3576R sized? But this 5964S compressor will flow 90lb airflow somewhat similar to the compressors in both the GTX3584RS or G35-1050.. I fully expected the 0.64 rear A/R to choke up top - seems way too small from typical convention - but these are seemingly beneficial over the prior 0.82 results.. Be interesting to see if he comments on the EFR question in that thread - he mentioned in a prior video that BW EFR's were the "cats pajamas 10 years ago", but by the sounds of things all his kits have been using Xona for quite a while now.
    • Yeah it’s still got the oem manual gearbox and clutch, only kinda mods are a blow off valve, coil overs, and a aftermarket intercooler. Also had it for about 2 months now with a lovely midnight purple paint on it.
    • Yeeeppp, been following a lot of the testing on the latest Xona stuff and there are some mental results.  He also went over 1000hp @ 4 hubs on his Mainline with a XRE6364S (63mm) which was also well into the 20psi range before 4000rpm on a 2.5. Crazy stuff. Fwiw the XRE5964S is basically the modern equivalent of their old HTA3582 - would drive nicely enough on an RB25 or 26, but proven capable of a huge amount of power if you want to spicy with rpm tho even at sane boost levels will make stout numbers
    • The axels in my R33 seem tired, and have a bit of play in them. I cannot find any new of course, not interested in buying used, but I am looking to see if anyone can identify some cross compatible axles. In the states I have seen suggested for S chassis the J30 axles, however for the skyline (as best I can tell) the lengths are about an inch off (2.5cm) on both sides. R33 my measure L 22" R 24.5" GPT L 22.5" 24.25" J30 L 23.5" 25.5"  so shaft length is probably an inch wider. Not sure if someone has another still remanufactured option besides the J30. I figured worst case I can buy a pair tear them down and swap the center shaft. My other option was reaching out to GSP to see if they cannot piece together a set, since the axle stubs are still manufactured, I wouldn't think it be that hard to find a shaft or make a shaft work.
