shame, targa tom just sold a very well prepped 32.

my105 is the place to go for prepared race cars, but the fact is most cars that are "for sale" are sitting in a garage somewhere and noone knows about them.

If you want to build it yourself, rally import from japan is the way to go, you can get hold of just about anything dirt cheap - and then spend 2-3 times your purchase price on getting it up to scratch.

That is a very large pic.

I'm not serious but would be intersted to know what you think it will go for.

Might be another year or two before I get a dedicated track car.

Sadly there is no where to hook up a tow bar on the R34.

I've always loved the concept of being able to take the tow car out if the track bitch dies at an inoportune time.

Im thinking 18k would buy you a quick R32 or R33 GTSt. Get it on Rally plates and keep the engine pretty std, just completely gut the car and get it down to 1100-1150kgs.

Outside of that your probably best decide on what sort of car your after then ringing up Car Clubs listed on the CAMS website. Often the good buys arent advertised, just sold off within clubs

You might find it to be a good idea to have a track car that has the same sort of driving/handling charateristics as your road car, this maens that when you jump into it at the track, you get back in sync with the car quicker.

I am also looking for a Tarmac race car.

I was hoping to get a fully race preped GT type car from japan as I would expect they would be cheap and well setup.

Does anyone know places in japan that offer these types of cars for sale ?

I already have a CAMS license, so I can import a FIA approved car on Race & Rally rules.

Thanks

you can import a Evo VII these days for under 30K on road including compliance, an early R33 GTSt will set you back 10k on the road... and that's under the regular SEVS import scheme, so it'll be cheaper as a race import.

If you want give me a budget and minimal requirements and I'll fish out some potential race imports for ya.

We just brought in an STi as a race import a couple of weeks ago... don't really list em up on the website unless something special comes up... like this R33 for example. We only look for race imports on request only as you can import nearly any car that is FIA approved (or permitted by CAMS in a motorsport they sanction).

My budget is $20k for a full race spec car. I do not think I am unrealistic in my expectations. I think that a race prepped RWD car from japan could easily be aquired for that money. I have a further $10k to spend on spares and anything that needs fixing.

I have also seen EVO6's going in race trim (rally) for $20k FOB.
