Climate Control Question

I recently did a climate control diagnostic test on my R33 Series2 looking for a temperature problem. Following the diagnostic routine (posted many times) all was well except when testing the temperatur readings from the sensors. It was a cool evening and I got only 2 readings 17 deg and 31 deg. Could anyone tell me what the second temp reads (inside or outside?)so I can finish testing

i thought the second one was outside ambient temp.

i think the sensor is somewhere near the bottom of the radiator support? might be getting heatsoaked. was the car hot when you were checking it?

I think you must be right. Found the outside temp sender was in the right place(in front of & below the radiator) but the clip was broken and someone had wrapped the whole thing up in black tape to hold it on!(good insulation job) removed the tape and tested again & got a more realistic reading. Also found that I had not refitted the hose to interior sensor. Now it works OK!! As a side thought does anyone find the ventilation not real good? Climate control works fine but turn off A/C and only limited air flow through car,seems to get a bit stuffy?
