Rb26 Hard To Start

hi my rb26 is hard to start all the time you allways got to give it a bit of throtle to kick it over never use to do it when i first brought it

dose any one have any ideas

i put a new fuel pump 6 months ago

Did it start as soon as you put the new fuel pump in?

Check the compression on it. Having seen some GTR's with busted rings and low compression, they get really hard to start and you need to stab at the throttle to get it going.

Otherwise might be over/under-fuelling on startup. You can also check fuel pressure while cranking to see if its right.

Yeah I reckon compression too.....as long as the battery is good they start pretty damn well normally. Or put a multimeter over the battery while starting you should still have around 11v while cranking.

do you prime the fuel pump before cranking?

my car is the same ,mines because of the wolf ecu over fuelling does yours have upgraded ecu maybe, there is a post on here about rewiring injectors so you can trim the fuel out

i primed it and it starts beter now
