Rb30e Crank In An Rb25det?

RB30E

BORE = 86

STROKE = 85

RB25DET

BORE = 86

STROKE = 71.7

Would this stroke the engine to about 2950cc ((2500/71.7)*85) ?

Would this be a smart thing to do, if you were to get the RB30E crank balanced, etc... ?

Wouldn't it effectively make a RB30DET?

whilst i know nothing about making an rb30, seeing as there is a sticky on it using the rb30 block, id say that you cant just throw a rb30 crank into a 25!

Theres a reason the RB30 crank belongs in the RB30 block. Its taller.

You cant put it in an rb25

Cheapest easiest way is to get an rb30e crank AND block. Theres an entire thread on doing that. There are stroker kits available, but I think only for the RB26, and they are fairly expensive only stroking it up to 2.8 litre? Im not 100% on that though do a search and itll probably show something else up.

you can use an RB26 crank and pistons.

Though it only increases your capacity by around 100cc

The main reason I wanted to stroke the 2.5, instead of doing the rb30 conversion is because of the legal issues like emissions, modification certificate and crap

Even if the crank fits there are no rods available for that setup that I'm aware of. You'd need rods that are shorter than the RB25 type...don't think any such thing exists.
