ey ive got a problem with my gears crunching as all of us do.. i changed my oil and it still crunches...

i see the thread for Redline Lightweight shockproof oil and it soudns the go

sorry if this has been answered But WHERE can i get it from in Melboune???

and how much does it cost? coz u need 2.6 ltrs for a r33

from memory you need 3.6L and they come in either 1L or 4L bottles for around $25/L.

Edit: Top notch sh1t, i couldn't live with out it.

You need 3.8 litres for a 33 box.

And yes, $100 for a 4 litre bottle from CRD.

Ben told me to get it from them and I did.

where bouts u getting ur figures from??

btw where do u get Redline oil from in MELBOURNE?

we put another box in my 33 last weekend. my mate's 33 owners manual said 2.8l so we just added that amount which we filled from inside the car with the shifter out.

To me there is something just not right about the feel of it all.

Reading thru old posts it seems if you fill it the conventional way (till it starts coming out of the side bung) you will use approx 3.6l

the 2.8l figure might be a leftover from the r32 turbo manual?

I bought a "4L" bottle from CRD which actually came as "3.76L" and it had about 1 inch left in the bottom after being filled up. (so it was ~3.5L's used)

I'm pretty sure the manual says 2.8L for a r33 . I filled my box to till it came out of the filler hole and that took 3.6 L , but after looking in the manual I drained it back to 2.8 L

I think i'm gonna put another 0.8 - 1.0L to take it up to 3.6L

and hopefully see an improvement.

Someone told me Redline has eaten away at the seals of some imports (not Skylines), has anyone had this problem with their Skyline? My gears are a little sticky, and I want to put Red line in.

Put the extra 750ml of VMX80 in this morning. now its quite a bit more smoother. phew

I dropped my redline in and it is INSTANTLY BETTER.

I used to have to shift carefully into each slot esp. 4th.

NOw it doesn't matter. YOu can slam it into gear - it goes in smooth as the proverbial hot knife into butter.
