BOV q

Hi guys. I was looking on the VicRoads website to find out what sorta s**t is defectable but dont seem to find much stuff.

Is a BOV defectable in Victoria? I was told by a buddie that it can be. What other things that most ppl put on their 'lines can be defectable by coppers? I dont want to get my 'line and then get it canaried as soon as it hits the roads.

Atmo venting Bov's are defectable...

Mine is atmo but looks like a plumb back (which is legal), there is a return hose attched to mine that when u follow it actually goes to nowhere and is blocked at the end...

Other defects:

Guages, depending on where they are mounted.

Neons, all of them. Especially blue and red.

Loud exhaust, ie over 90db.

Lowering, ie lower than 10cm from any part of the car.

Load ratings on wheels. ie having to light a load rating wheel on your car.

I also heard you can get defected just for having a vanity plate that declares in any way that you are an innocent person...

Its all ADR stuff, not specifically Victoria.. all the info is on the site in every last detail, just check harder

This is dependent on the car's capacity.

Yeah it does, only after 3000rpm though, so i can keep it dead silent if i want too...

u either have the noise, which the cops can hear.. 'cause if they pull you over to defect you, they'll get u on something...

or you keep it standard noise, and get same performance.

Best thing is to have an adjustable one which u can turn the "pshhh" noise up or down on when you want to.
